Our salvation might be that there are teams in the league that are very poor. Stoke, Wba and Huddersfield really are losing a lot. At least we are getting draws from here and there..

We need to start getting the odd point or three in games like Man Utd next week.

There are 5 home games I think we can get wins from; Southampton, Huddersfield, West Brom, Arsenal and Chelsea.

Chelsea will depend on what they've got to play for on the last day and hopefully Arsenal just don't turn up.

Win 3 of them, nick a win and a couple of draws on the road somewhere and we'll scrape home.

If we don't start winning at home we don't really deserve to stay up anyway.

We won't get any points now till the 10th of March by which time we will be solid in the bottom 3.

Bit daft to write off Bournemouth on the 24th of this month.

Cos we're good enough to defeat a team that thrashed Chelsea in their own ground. Yeah, that'll be happening.

Bournemouth are very unpredictable.  Can put in some stinking performances.

Football doesn't work like that.

Just got to keep chipping away and hope that we essentially get enough draws to keep us up, whilst there are enough losses around us to sustain these scarce points.

Realistically we're looking at one or two wins away from home and draws at home to the likes of Saints, Huddersfield, WBA etc. Personally don't think we have enough.

We won at Bournemouth 2 years ago and we were awful. They battered us but we scraped a 1-0.

And Chelsea on the final day.... nothing to play for, maybe a cup final to come. Certainly a World Cup for all of them. You saw from Spurs 5-1 just how weird the final day can be.

What a bizarre way to look at things.

Have you not seen Bournemouth are top of the league?

Sill think it's an absolute cert and after the next 5 games we will be entrenched in the bottom 3. The games against Brighton, Swansea and Burnley would have give us some breathing space heading into this period and we have totally blew it. That 45 minute period second half today was f***ing woeful and how Palace did not win that game I do not know. We cannot hold leads for toffee and the amount of space teams are getting time and time again on the right hand side is frightening. Teams with any pace against us have a field day.

Needs to start playing the same team and stick with it unless injury or suspension as the chopping and changing of teams is not working (and f*** this theory on resting players - did you ever see Keegan or Robson not playing their strongest teams- we haven't got a massive squad where quality players will replace other quality players).

Dubravka (Darlow is a total liability), Yedlin (unfortunately we have nobody better), Lascelles, Lejeune, Dummett, Murphy, Merino, Diame (never thought I'd say that), Kenedy, Slimani and either Gayle ( :( ) or Perez ( :( ) or play Shelvey in the holding role and Diame further forward. We have to start winning games as 2 wins in the last 17 games is shocking. Draws are not enough as all it needs is a couple of teams to win a game and then your immediately playing catch up. Those 3 games coupled with Watford, Bournemouth, Leicester and Everton at home are the reason  we are in serious s*** - all winnable games ay HOME and f***ing 3 points gained.

Give over, man. You are one utterly depressing force of nature.

To say it's an absolute cert given the completely congested nature of the bottom is just pure idiocy. At least you're consistent in that realm.

I was consistent the last time we went down also and had the same people saying the same and low and behold look what happened. Let's see what you're saying after the next 5 games then..

"absolute cert"

Let's see if your laughing after the next 5 games that's all I'm saying. 2 wins out of 17 and your actually laughing at that prediction - righto let's see.

2 wins from 17 and we're still not in the relegation zone. I'll start panicking then.

Most of us were saying that shit last time. Don't pat yourself on the back for that.

Whatever happens, and it's extremely difficult to predict (if one is not being a miserably tiresome  24/7). If you do happen to be right, it is certainly not from your supreme intellect or staggering predictive powers. Just a shining example of how any cretin can stumble upon the truth, even despite a horribly flawed process in getting there.

The league table wasn't this congested last time. We've spent little to no time in the relegation zone. The next 5 games don't determine how the final 7 go. Brom are 3 matches away from a position of impossible catch up, whilst Stoke and Huddersfield concede for fun.

Also we have no Steve McClaren and a £30mil striker due to step in.

Cheer up.

Let's just see how Slimani does when he comes in. Bit tough with it looking like his first game will be Man Utd (h) but there's no pressure on us to get a result and hopefully that plays to our advantage. Our tactical set up et al in the overwhelming majority of games has been spot on and people with even a modicum of knowledge about football knows that we just need a good enough striker to put chances away; look at the games against Bournemouth, Everton, Swansea, Burnley. Slimani is a bloke rated at £30m, has scored in the PL despite starting only 15 times in a side that doesn't suit his style of play and physique, and in the CL.

After Man Utd we have 2 weeks to prepare for what I believe and I think most people will see as a winnable match in Bournemouth (a). You can lack confidence in us, but to say we're absolute certainties for relegation is ludicrous.

Some good news for you, we've lost Fer and Bony for the rest of the season. Well Bony is no loss to be honest, an expensive mistake that should never have happened.

How important is Fer to you?

+

Fer's been playing very well. we're hoping Andy King will fill the gap but he's an unknown in our team.
