Tiresias
creapt up to a 4. After a win against a team pretty likely to go down?
cubaricho
I hate to look back at the season and do what ifs, but if we would have picked up those 3 points against Sunderland we'd be sitting pretty in third. Crazy season.
Decky
I don't think we've any chance of going down now. We've got plenty of points on board for this stage of the season, and have also won two games that the other teams are unlikely to win - Chelsea and Spurs. I also think Palace, Sunderland and Norwich have no chance of staying up.
B-more Mag
Six points ahead of where we were after 12 matches last season and five points behind the 2011-12 season. It would take a pretty robust collapse to go down.

Dave
There's virtually no chance of anything interesting happening to us at either end of the table. Thankfully that means we won't go down.

Guest
We're right up with Southampton & Everton now, didn't think we'd be in that position after the Sunderland game. We then need one of the "big 6" to have a stinker by their standards. Spurs look the most likely if anyone.
afar
I think today's game, even though me made it hard on ourselves, shows just how much more quality we have than the ones at the bottom of the league, which makes it maddening that we lost to the Makems and Hull and drew at home with West Ham. Not much chance of us having much to worry about this season thankfully, barring us doing something to shoot ourselves in the foot or a dramatic loss of form. Ketsbaia
It's us, Everton, Southampton and Swansea to complete the top 10, probably.
maze
I'm sorry to kill off your optimism, but have you forgotten that there's something called a transfer window in January?
BottledDog
I'm sorry to kill off your optimism, but have you forgotten that there's something called a transfer window in January? You could argue that a fair percentage of the windows over the past few seasons have seen us come out stronger than we went in, no?
Guest
A third of the way through the season and we're in amongst the Manchesters, Liverpool, Spurs, Chelsea and we've competed with them in our head to head fixtures (City apart) as well. Slipped under the radar a bit in the medias eyes, Southampton and Everton getting the plaudits so far might do us a favour and keep the pressure off us a bit. alexf
I hope nothing silly happens with Ben Arfa in January due to him being out the team recently. Also of course we must hang on to Cabaye. Could possibly see Colo finally getting his wish but the club won't be forced into it. Marveaux and Obertan could definitely be on the way out in January to make room for any potential signings. If we have a decent January window, then we could kick on and finish strong. If we have a bad window I think we'd still probably stay up more than comfortably. Too many shit teams down there this year and we're stronger than we were last year also.
Guest neesy111
Our Winter Transfer windows have been fine the last 2 seasons. It's the summer 1's that cause us all the problems.

Mole_Toonfan
Our Winter Transfer windows have been fine the last 2 seasons. It's the summer 1's that cause us all the problems. I'd be surprised if this window follows those two windows though. 1st window we bought Cisse because we had a chance of CL football and bought him to push us into contention. Last window we bought all those French players because we were going down otherwise. This year i can't see either happening thus it will be more like the summer windows IMO. Cajun
I reckon no-one will go and we will be in for Gomis which will be an improvement on Shola/Cisse. Nothing that will push us too much either way. Can't see the clubs around us signing someone who will make that much difference either.
