The performance was absolute dogshit today, as bad as anything so far this season.

Not that this justifies people giving the owners grief on twitter like.

What did you expect, did you expect us to roll over Palace today?

Agreed to an extent, but do wonder if it was the Israeli state that bought us and it was a similar attack on them for all the Palestinian stuff if it would get a different reaction.

Well it would because Zionists and philosemites are utter psychopaths. They’d still be wrong.

I was hoping for more possession and better territory advantage compared to what we are used to. Seemed very much same of old, would give credit for defending a bit better in limiting Palace to less clear chances... but still same cling on for dear life, occasionally create a chance and hope ASM/Wilson scores. I guess it's harsh to expect much to change in a week, but I was hoping without Bruce we would see something better.

I was hoping we would be much better than we were, but its been 3 days of training since Bruce left and we looked slightly better in defence. Hardly brilliant but a visible improvement (at least from my perspective)

Its going to be a slog to get out of the shit but they need to take the time to bring the right person in.

Twitter is a terrible like, Newcastle fans giving Jamie Reuben pelters for saying an improved performance today. Its almost like they expected us to steam roll Palace today because Bruce is gone.

By all accounts, it was an improved performance, despite some poor individual performances at least we looked like we knew what was expected.

I'm all for communicating with fans but Twitter is a shit show like. Would be advisable for Ghodoussi and Reuben to dissapear from Twitter imo.

Actually think it's sort of an unprofessional medium of communication too fwiw.

And I agree with all that for sure. I also thought the players having one voice to focus on rather than Bruce vs. Jones in telling them what to do might help us see clearer instructions to players and reflected in play. Less of a Jones sorting it in 3 days but Bruce not getting in the way and making it worse straight away

Guys, we were still abysmal today. Beneke had a bucket full of easy chances, I mean he hit the post from inside the six yard box (it was easier to score), had an easier one-on-one and also hit the bar from another free header. They also had some other clear chances too and we were just rotten again. I sound negative because the performance was just that, but we took an undeserved point and that could prove vital later on in the season

https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-10124007/Newcastle-takeover-18-Premier-League-clubs-one-month-ban-sponsorship-related-parties.html - follow-up on the related-party sponsorship month ban

The Premier League is set for a bitter battle among leading clubs next month over the Saudi takeover at Newcastle United as a raft of clubs seek to outlaw sponsorship deals from friendly businesses associated with competitor clubs.

Newcastle director Amanda Staveley is expected to attend the shareholders meeting next month to respond in person to Monday’s emergency Premier League meeting, which led to a vote being taken for a one-month moratorium of any club concluding sponsorship deals with related parties.

It is likely that the committee will study the suggestions of Project Big Picture, which proposed that related-party sponsorship deals were limited to £50million.

It has been suggested by sources close to the talks that the Premier League will establish a permanent independent body to assess fair value for all new deals, to prevent Newcastle claiming their shirt sponsors, estimated at £5m a year, is suddenly worth £25m.

Yet sources at the club have pointed out that any future sponsorship deals would be pricing in the expected success of the club two or three years down the line and will be worth more than current deals.

Given that such rules will not be ready for next month’s Premier League shareholders meetings, it is expected that the moratorium will be extended. Newcastle’s new owners are firmly of the view that such a move would be akin to a cartel and as such illegal.

But they also believe the majority of clubs will come round to the view that Saudi investment will boost the Premier League’s value.

nowt wrong with the Palace banner today.

but where have their concerns been over the years?

we get taken over and all of a sudden they're offended?

just wish they'd also go and stand outside buckingham palace when they have them round for tea, or downing st.

When PIF announced that they had withdrawn, all the clubs supporters now in uproar, were openly hysterical in delight. Not because we were not being taking over by a group from a country with big human rights issues - no there was virtually no mention of that then. Their delight was purely because the likelihood of our club challenging and winning honours had went up in smoke. Well fuck them all, because their crying is down to pure jealousy and the fact they’re all shitting themselves at being pushed aside.
