Black and White stripes with either black or red numbers

Leave it unchanged

Newcastle United Football Club

Suspect it's going to be a quick discussion, that one.

Would take blue numbers a la 2003-05, mind, black, white and blue are the colours of a magpie at the end of the day. We've had white and gold as well but they're probably not visible enough for auld commentators and TV watchers.

Gold numbers on the Championship kit looked really good imo.

Yeah, not great wording but that surely just means they're committing to not changing any of those three things without getting agreement from the fans. In which case I'm actually surprised club crest is on there given there must be branding/marketing folk behind the scenes itching to make it into some circular shite like every other badge.

Likely looks like they want to have the ability to change stadium names without fan consent should it come to that. That being said, think it will be seen as an absolute last resort.

The rules on heritage assets and fan consultation were announced by the FA last year. The club have essentially just restated what the rules are.

EDIT: What Prophet said.

Just now, The Prophet said:

Just a copy and paste of the Premier League stuff isn't it?

It means very little at this stage other than they've done what they have to do (publish this document and commit to some proper structured supporter engagement) under new Premier League fan engagement standard.

I’m trying to think of which clubs have changed their first team kits in recent years.  Cardiff were very recent, Liverpool and Leeds are relatively recent (in my dad’s lifetime, anyway)

edit: Villa occasionally play in stripes.  Same colours though.

Luton went from white to orange, which seemed weird as I was used to white, but apparently they were orange back in the day.

Forest Green went from black and white stripes to green (hopefully that's not replicated up here....)

I was going to say go back to Stanley Utd because I always thought it was named after Stanley where I'm from, however I found out last week it was intact named after Stanley Street in the East End, so that idea is knackered.

All with smiling faces is a great read on the origins of NUFC, from its earliest incarnations through the glory years until, iirc, the onset of WWI. Maybe early 20s, been a while since I read it.
