They have some people working on the new stadium with top credentials, but they shouldn’t listen to them and just make a decision to appease a Newcastle United online forum. Moneys no barrier but everything has to be top spec. I've had similar experience and often wonder if it goes back to their Bedouin tradition? Almost like Life of Brian in that they need to barter. You have to remember that it's only within the last 100 years that they've gained their wealth.

If they made everyone on here happy with their stadium solution, then it would be a greater achievement than if they had actually helped gain peace between Russia and the Ukraine. Let's not forget here, I'm just holding them to account for what they've stated. What have they stated they would do and failed to deliver, that they need holding to account for specifically? NE27 Posted Monday at 17:31 Share Posted Monday at 17:31 I'm kinda glad they're not over promising and under delivering. The Man U bollocks the other month seemed exactly the kinda shit to keep the masses quiet for a bit without realistically happening anytime soon. I'd love to hear more info on stadium and training ground plans, but if they're waiting to the point of essentially saying "ok, this is what we are doing and it starts in the next x amount of month" then so be it. If they then take another year to progress I'd be a bit miffed what the wait really has been. But in the meantime I'll console myself with a cup and European football again

But in the meantime I'll console myself with a cup and European football again It’s going to take fucking years for them to even break ground on that new Old Trafford. They need to move the railway yard first, and that will take years in itself. In the meantime the costs for their new stadium will soar, the plans will be unrealistic, and it will be diluted down in order to achieve it, both from a practical point of view, but also from a financing one. bobbydazzla Posted Wednesday at 09:02 Share Posted Wednesday at 09:02 As much as we’d love to emulate their recent success on the pitch, I hope with all my heart that PIF aren’t looking at Man City’s match day experience and thinking “oooooh yeah, let’s have some of that” Sky high ticket prices Traditional fans being frozen out Huge pitchside LED’s that are brighter than the sun Vapid morons filming all game Large blocks full of tourists who appear to contribute nothing to the atmosphere Anytime I watch a game from the Etihad, it’s a stark reminder of just how shite a modern football ground can be

I managed to nab a couple tickets last minute on the website for the Brentford game in Block L4W. This must be where they are selling on resale sites as the amount of phones out for the majority of the game was ridiculous. Every time we went forward the phones were out, bloke infront of me was on insta live for most of the first half (Nee idea how he had signal like). I know I know 'they've paid the same to be there' but it really bothered me that all I could see out the corner of my eye were bright screens when trying to watch the match so I did make a snide comment of 'If you wanted to watch the match through a screen then you should stay at home and watch it on the fucking tele.' I won't even bother going the match if those top blocks on L4 are all that are left in the ground. Edited Wednesday at 09:47 by Tross
bobbydazzla Posted Wednesday at 09:56 Share Posted Wednesday at 09:56 Has anyone had experience at SJP of politely asking the phone obsessed morons to put their phones away Seems that as a society we just keep our gobs shut and accept it, even though it's antisocial behaviour. So the problem never actually gets addressed If someone next to me was on Insta-live during the match I don't think I'd be able to resist asking them to please stop doing it Unless they looked proper radge, then I'd just stay quiet and complain to my missus about them when I got home from the match

It's just not worth it unfortunately.

It's definitely easier to say "here man ya dafty, put ya daft fuckin phone down" and that'd be my default reaction But one thing I've learnt from my lass is that asking politely, with a disarming smile, can sometimes get people to listen to your view and stop what they're doing, rather than creating confrontation She does it to me all the time, usually when the dishwasher needs emptying but I'm fapping over Michelle Collins on Insta Edited Wednesday at 10:30 by bobbydazzla
Chicken Dancer Posted Wednesday at 10:36 Share Posted Wednesday at 10:36 I actually enjoy having no signal in the ground personally. Call me old school but I actually enjoy hearing the scores at HT/FT without any prior knowledge. Back in the day the fella would always read out the mackems last if they were losing, not sure if he still does tbf. Hate when someone nearby is loudly telling their mate that the scores in other games Betting culture is the reason. People can't resist checking the scores so they can check how their coupon is getting on.
NE27 Posted Wednesday at 11:42 Share Posted Wednesday at 11:42 (edited) I don't mind people taking pics before or after the game, hell even a few in between. But what is this obsession with filming it zoomed in from miles away, who the fuck is going to watch that and be like "fuck me that's mint mate, the broadcasters really didn't capture it in the same detail with their 4k cameras". These people might as well be robots, they're just there filming and not actually contributing/joining in at all. Groundhog63 Posted Wednesday at 11:45 Share Posted Wednesday at 11:45 This could be the reason the grounds are so quiet now. All the, middle aged, blokes who want to sing their hearts out are too busy staring angrily at punters using their phones.
TBG Posted Wednesday at 11:46 Share Posted Wednesday at 11:46 Being artistic (stop it) with social anxietly at the match is a right pain. Plenty of lovely shots to take, but the anxiety kicks in when taking out my phone, yet there's a lad two rows in front of me live streaming his face all game shouting out his catch phrase every 2 minutes.
