During this current run, we feel like a turbo-charged version of the side that finished 4th tbh. Exciting few months ahead to say the least.

Feels like we've added the defensive steel to go with the all action attacking though. I thought earlier in the season we looked confused, but this is clearly what Howe was building towards.

Feel like he should have tried Tonali as a 6 alot sooner (completely understand if they were bedding him in slowly and building up to it in training) but we sacrificed a decent amount of points playing Longy ahead of him, however our form of recent is bigger than that one positional switch. Could not be happier for this man.

Do people think the turnaround in form is really as simple as Tonali moving deeper? Seems madness that we have improved so much in just one month due to such a small tactical tweak, surely must be other factors at play .

Amazing what he's acheived with this squad, no disrespect to Murphy and Burn, but it's this man's coaching that's keeping them at this level, I don’t think anywhere else under any other manager they're acheiving the levels they have both got to.

It's interesting now for Eddie, because it's now fair to say he's got the choices to select the best possible team given the fact all key players are available, there's only Murphy and Burn I see as weakest in the starting eleven, and that sounds harsh especially for Burn as he's arguable not put a foot wrong, but going off quality and who would likely be your back four, it's obvious for me, I'd be going (Liv Bot Schar Hall)

Midfield picks itself, Left picks itself, Striker no questions.

So right wing takes us to a new level, if we invest with an elite.

Good times are here again.

After the Brentford game Eddie sat down and talked to every player individually and told em what they needed to do to change, look at the results since then

He also asked them what do they think needs to change.

which is absolutely great management.

Bromley, Wolves, Bournemouth, Southampton and Fulham up next with only Southampton being away. Could realistically win all of them.

It's getting harder and harder after every win though. What a time for Bromley to play us.

Yeah, your form and the way you play changing so drastically isn't just down to one player

It's a factor but there's a lot more to it

It's not the first time we've went on runs with Eddie Howe, once we build momentum he's great at knowing how to make the runs last for a while

No there's a bit more (though I think that formation was the aim......Tonali was never just a Longstaff upgrade), we have a CH following the oppos forward/acm to within 30yds of his own goal with other folding in blocking lanes etc, a lot more getting into the box(because we have a plan if they break), Trippier was recently spending a lot of time coming lnto centre mid instead of his usual wide, with Murphy dropping a bit to work Isak or Bruno into that gap.

Really you need to sit Milburn level 7 to get all this going on. Not kidding, had a mate up with us, his first game up there (normally a Strawberry cornerer) and he was amazed at how different a game it was and how he saw it better.

Its the biggest part of the turnaround, but obviously there is more at play.

We were all asking questions back in October, because we were legitimately not playing well. A few of us including myself were frustrated at Howe not incorporating Tonali into the side at that point but again, he’s proven that he was right to integrate him in the way he did. He’s come into the team seamlessly and hit the ground fucking sprinting, allowing Bruno to move up is the icing on the cake.

A lesson learnt again, and we will hit rough form in the future. Actively wanting him gone at any point was madness (Mourinho [emoji38]), but it’s the way emotion goes for some. Probably our best run so far under him? Coming from looking poorly coached up until Tonalis inclusion it’s incredible work.

Edit: also, I’m not sure I’ve ever witnessed a manager capable of maximising what he gets out of fairly limited players quite like Howe does.

One of the reasons I want Howe out, is although he is good, the rest of the field are good too he doesnt stand out and the top 6 managers in this league are a level above him.

So glad we didn't panic and sack this guy when we had been decimated with injuries last season.

Easy to say that now though isn’t it.

We legitimately looked terrible at times from August to late November/early December and were lucky to have as many points as we did on the board. A lot of us rightfully were starting to ask where we were going wrong.

This is all credit to Howe, in proving himself again and again. I just hope the more emotional fans remember this time for when we hit a rough patch again.

I said it then, you divvy. Sick of moaning cunts when we're having a bad patch and especially so when they're giving it big licks when we're not.

I'm consistent.

Easy to say because Howe has been here since 2021. And every time we have a rough spell, the same posters come out of the woodwork with the same horse shit, even though he has generally recovered form since he's been here.

There's a difference to being quietly concerned but at the same time willing to give him time to put it right, to reading 8 paragraphs on how he has'taken us as far as he can '

I love Longstaff but what’s his level? Bottom half PL? We’ve replaced him with a proper CL player who is a leader and plays with real authority. That’s not a small tweak.

Imagine when we got a CL level Right sided player.

Yeah, I think even Longstaff recognised that tonight. Looked sad and was being consoled at the end.

He’s served us well, but it surely time to get Miley more involved and move Longstaff on.

It’s okay to ask reasonable questions when we don’t play well, unfortunately like you say - there’s a lot of moaning cunts about

We're evolving into a much more complete team. We are defensively strong while maintaining the ability to break at lightning speed. We are also a lot more accomplished at breaking teams down, something we really struggled to do last year when we relied on the press and quick breaks.

I think as a result we are a nightmare to set up against as we can play it so many different ways. Play it out, we'll press you hard, sit back and we'll open you up with creative play, push onto us and we'll break at speed.
