I think they're trying to get a better offer salary wise, and perhaps regarding some more control over certain areas. Balague mentioned in his tweet yesterday about a manager needing to have full control, and so perhaps after his stint at Arsenal where players were bought for him, he doesn't want to work with a DOF. The worry at this point is that he (or anyone) has been very publicly revealed as not the first choice, and there's loads of examples of that resulting in issues down the line. We still haven’t heard from the man himself, so I’d hang fire a bit before saying it’s definitely off. There may be some work to be done by the club to talk him round. On another note the disrespect shown to him on here when he was clearly being fed info from those within the consortium, was distasteful to say the least.
