I’m probably going to get pelters but Eddie is a very,very good football coach not a manager. A lot of elite managers leave training to their first team coaches. Eddie tries to do both but he can’t at the highest level.

Because he deserves our backing still. He's done wonderful things for us whilst he's been here and if we are to replace him at some point, that's out of my control anyway. That's a club decision that will be made whether Eddie has the backing of the fans or not.

 

Like I say, I still hope he can turn it around and as long as I have that hope, I'll back him 100%.

Think too 5/6 is out of question regardless if Howe is sacked. It’s his unbalanced squad. 
 

I think we need a rethink too to bottom. But Howe should see out the season barring catastrophe.

Fair enough. I'd like to think (naively or not) this ownership would be less dismissive of the fan view, and there is at a least a tacit consideration of fan sentiment.

 

If that day comes - and it doesn't need to be nast/uglyy - I think it's fine for the mood music to change about whether Howe has fan backing for the long term.

The fans are nowhere near wanting Howe gone.... well unless you take what you read on a football forum or twitter as your metric. As always, it's the extreme end of opinions.

 

Some healthy criticism aside, most people who I speak to are still absolutely behind him. Of course, like anything else. If you keep getting beat...

So how long do we give him, until the string runs out, or do we strike now, whilst we still have  the chance of top 4/6 , much longer and our position may become untenable and resulting in the manager departing anyways, better proactive as opposed to reactive

Things are a bit stale, some poor decision making at either end of the pitch and the side are lacking some confidence/motivation for whatever reason.

 

I'd be looking at a bit of a fire sale and a mini rebuild. We've got some really great things about our squad.

 

I'd pretty much take offers for most of our players, in order to be able to do some business in the transfer market.

 

Eddie Howe is, at minimum, a good manager. We've had 3 managers in the PL era who can sit at the same table as him, in 30 years of football.

 

In my opinion, losing him would be catastrophic. 

I could be open-minded to this, but the question is whether Eddie is saying internally that the squad needs to ditch a load of first team players and have a rebuild. Or does he think dropping Schar for Guehi would've had us achieve an extra 6+ points so far this season.

Spot on. We are slightly under achieving with this squad and it's not had any investment in 18 months.

 

Sell some players, sign some players and let him go again, this time from a stronger spot.

The fans opinion means absolutely nothing either way, same as the stadium it will be solely down to what the owners decide
