Yeah, it's not a bad shout. Especially while we don't have a quality option at right wing to create more threat.

Once we do upgrade that right wing spot, Joelinton's deficiencies won't be as much of an issue. And we can just let him be the midfield enforcer he is.

Willock will really need to be productive in those moments he starts though, because he is too inconsistent. We lose a lot of energy, physicality, ball winning, and set piece help in both boxes, if we're subbing in Willock for Joelinton. He'd really have to make it worthwhile.

Personally, I'd probably just have Willock come on as an early sub, if we need some extra threat rather than have him outright alternate as a starter with big Joe.

Yeah it's a bit funky really - i was hoping the Willock LCM, Tonali CM, Bruno RCM with Joelinton RW would work too (and maybe it still can) in the mean time.

But again, if we're in the major countering and not playing a Liverpool -- Willock as LCM makes a whole lot of sense and as much as it does if we need to break a team down. Maybe you have to play Barnes as RW and get him to do his quick give & go and roam him around the box to find space to create a shot too? To your point much better when we get a starting top quality RW.

I also agree that Joelinton is perfect for matches we need his energy, box to box enforcing, etc. He's also a very good dribbler with the ball when he gets a head of steam and want to see him doing that more. If he's afforded space, take the space...just release the ball with more pace (he underhits a lot of passes!)

Though I still lean towards it ending badly, I really really want Eddie to be a success here as he’s a good man, works very hard and is such a terrific ambassador for the club. He deserves it.

How do you define ‘ending badly?’

Even with the money we've got, it's not possible for us to attract the very best players in the world but what we can do is get those players who are capable of making a difference against any team in the PL/Europe but maybe not do it consistently enough to be considered world class players and therefore not be targets for the Real Madrids and the Man Cities. We've had plenty of those players in the past; take Bellamy for example. No one would describe him as one of the best forwards in the world but there and then under the guidance of Sir Bobby he could make a difference against any team. Ben Arfa was such a player; his capabilty, ceiling or whatever was just as good as say, Eden Hazard, but not as consistently for different reasons. For this, Eddie, like SBR or Keeagan, is the right manager.

Our recruitment needs to be bang on target; build a squad consisting of such players AND solid, consistent performers rather than players like Murphy and Longstaff who are neither, and we should be able to win cups if not league titles.

I think we're on the right path with signings like Botman, Hall, Livra, Bruno, Tonali, Isak, Gordon but there's still some way to go and I suspect we need an astute tactician by Eddie's side rather than Jason Tindall. That won't happen though and Eddie wanting full control is a concern. He's great at getting the best out of players but is he great at the getting the best out of the team/squad? It has not looked that way for a while.

Since the only managers I can think of that it hasn't really ended badly for in the history of the Premier League are probably Ferguson and Klopp, that's a pretty safe bet.

Would anyone bring in Tony Pulis specifically as a set penis coach?

I'd bring someone in for certain, he might be as good as any tbf. What we do at the moment isn't effective enough.

Longstaff and Murphy start.

He really doesn’t help himself at times… I look forward to the triple sub on 60 minutes

Raising our game for the big teams and then producing this defensively shocking shit show away at fucking Brentford, man. There's a serious issue with the mentality and/or motivation of these players.

Hope this makes me look silly and we win (it won’t change my mind).

If there’s money to spend in January, get someone new in now and back the new man.

Just continuing our poor form across the season with the odd raised performances against the bigger teams.

Time might be up. But it isn't like the next guy can do much more with how crooked the league is.

What would you do if you owned the club? Howe is not going anywhere, but nice of you to bump the thread so other fans will think we are all cunts
