So far with Man U and Villa still to play to complete the first half of the season. Plus a SF in the League Cup. It's been inconsistent to say the least

Out of curiosity, which results would you / others bemoan? (Genuine question)

For me, West Ham at Home and Fulham away should have been better.

But that's football....

Think we're in a good position heading into 2025.

Can understand the Everton game. We probably should be taking all 3.

The Brighton game. I hate losing but they have been massively inconsistent this year too.

Beat Spurs, Man Utd, Man City, Us, drew Vs Arsenal, narrowly lost 2-1 to Liverpool and drew with Forest who are flying.

Yet lost to Palace, drew with Ipswich, West Ham, Southampton and Leicester

Nah it was more we hammered them (Brighton) and got beat. I bemoan that. West Ham was an off day where we got what we deserved. Like Palace where we were lucky to get what we did

Ah! Makes sense.

Equally, we've stolen a few points this year being the worst team

Brighton at home and Everton away, we did everything but score. Should have beat Brighton by 3 or 4, and Gordon missed his pen at Everton.

1 point rather than 6.

Disappointed with the 2nd half performances against West Ham and Brentford, two games there for the taking at half time.

Fulham was awful.

Feel like we could easily have 7 or 8 more points than we do, but that's the difference between us and Liverpool ultimately, consistency.

So mid table teams are our nemesis? I hope Man Utd will climb out of mid table before we meet them, then.

Big game this Villa one. Feels like they are out closest rivals over the last and coming years.

Howe has gotten the better of Emery a few times now and let's hope that continues. But should be a good game, as both teams look bang in form after today. We are definitely going to face a stronger challenge than the last 3 opponents, but likewise, Man city looked shocking again today, so we will prove a much stronger test for villa also.

We could be 10 points off the top on Christmas Day with a semi final coming up. Don’t think a single one of us would have deemed that even slightly realistic in pre-season. The reality is obviously more nuanced but plenty of reasons to be very optimistic about the second half of the season.

Ironically, I think these last few games proved those of us that criticized Eddie right. We clearly have alot of top class players and all this talk of freshness was a bs excuse, no doubt that we underachieved badly this season before this current run.

The fans were asking for Bruno further up the pitch and Tonali starting long before Eddie made the switch himself which seems to have given us this momentum.

Will gladly admit I was over the top with my criticism though, but hey thats football. Atleast i always had the faith that he could turn it around and never went as far as calling for him to be sacked.

Not going to say that all my doubts have suddenly vanished though, but he sure has earned alot of breathing room for the moment.

eddie will sleep better tonight.

Really dreading the idea of a Burn Kelly double left foot CB pairing for some reason. Is there many examples of two left foot CBs playing together in a back 4?

I know it happens with right footers all the time so in theory it should be fine. But we are so reliant on Schar being the one to play out from the back that I can't even imagine Burn or Kelly playing RCB and trying to pass it around.

Any chance Krafth might be back?

I couldn’t care less about which feet they prefer but the last time we saw Kelly was genuinely one of the worst performances by any player under Eddie. Hopefully that can be sorted out.

There’s some games we should have gotten more from (Everton, Brighton) and ones we were fortunate. These things happen.

The most disappointing result for me is West Ham. We had won three in a row, rested from the break, and playing under the lights at home. I thought we were going to smash them.

I start to think Eddie is a “slow learner”. Had he realised his mistake and take actions earlier we should be in better positions last season and this season.

That said at least he has learnt before it’s too late. I would say we have turned the corner and we have a decent chance to finish top 6 & above. I am pleased for Eddies work these few games.

Now we should hope for some lady luck re our injuries, and also no bid from Man City for Bruno.

I knew my post would be provocative, but damn, you guys dont pull your punches do you?

On a serious note I do think Eddie slept better tonight and felt like a massive weight have been lifted off his shoulders. Thought you could see from some of his interviews that he was under alot of pressure. Im so happy for him.

Now please forgive us fickle beings, forget who said what and let everyone take part of what you be a great feelgood factor around the club going forward ;)

I think Brighton, Everton and West Ham (first half) were all results that didn't really match our performances and our finishing let us down.

Some kid on Total Sport annoyed John Anderson by mentioning the misses yesterday.

"your team wins 4-0 away and some are still looking for negativity" (paraphrase)

It's a bit like Murphy cupping his ear "What? What?"

It is all very well celebrating wins but there's been so many frustrating games this season where we've fluffed good chances and blown up.

Especially stark in these league when, more often than not, chances are few and far between. Especially away.

But we didn’t win them because we weren’t good enough.

other teams have ifs, buts and should haves too, look at the table. I don't bemoan any losses for longer than the brief periods it takes to get over them, it's absolutely pointless
