Loathe to criticise Howe too much. That squad looks stale as fuck, which is understandable as we haven't bought a first team player for an absolute age.

This summer is key. A rebuild and a rethink is needed.

Lack of additions is costing us for sure

I hate losing in the FA Cup - which I should be used to by now.  That was a poor performance though, and Howe will attract and deserve some reasonable criticism for it.

It’ll be interesting to see what happens in the summer - whether Mitchell has the ruthless edge that Howe lacks re selling players.

I’d like to see Howe’s NUFC ver2.0 - to see if we can adjust to a different style.  ‘Intensity is our identity’ always had a limited shelf life - it would be good to see an evolution in play next season.  He’s a smart bloke, so I’d hope that he has a vision for it.  I’m sure he does.

I suspect we will need European football for that to happen, though.

He needs European football to survive imo

Secondly get rid of his boys - Pope - Schar - Burn - Trippier - Longstaff - Willock - Murphy - Wilson, waste of time the lot of them

Thought he would have given Osula a go as he looked lively down @Birmingham,He was really good thinking about it

Is it to do with “Patterns”,Osula not up to speed with the routines? Our last attack just now we was looking for a pattern instead of putting it in the box

Fuck knows but his go to subs are terrible he couldn't do much worse.

The intensity is our identity hasn’t been evident for most of the season. We actually look more knackered with less games.

Give over. People are allowed different opinions, and some don't fancy a massive overreaction to a bad bit of form.

But sure, go ahead and laud your negative opinion over everyone else like it's the only one that matters.

People can have their opinion, but as with Rafa, a few will not have anything said against Howe. It was quite obvious those tactics today do not work, as they weren't for quite a few of the games recently . You're at home playing Brighton in the 5th round of the cup and with what should be an excellent chance to move to the quarter finals, take the game to them from the off, put the pressure on them, instead of allowing them to walk literally at will into our end of the pitch. He started those tactics (wrongly), but yet again no sign whatsoever of in game management or an improvement after halftime. He actually does a change quite sharpish, but again it's like for like

He’d certainly cause more problems than Wilson who looks like he’s towing a caravan. The amount of space, and against tiring legs, would have likely suited Osula.

There’s no reason the ‘intensity is our identity’ can’t be there next season. As the top teams under Klopp would press for periods, then sit off and just knock it about. The 2nd part is what we can’t do, players or coaching wise, and is something we have to see next season or we won’t move forward as a club.

Possession is dull, but to challenge at top, you have to be able to do it for periods of games. Otherwise, you reach a ceiling.

Yes, I also think that he might need European football to keep his position.  I don’t think we’d be able to get rid of that many players as we’d need to replace all of them.

It would be crazy not to sell at least one ‘purple’ this summer, mind.  It’s holding us back.

I think we need to do the same of those players regardless.

They aren’t good enough for where we want to be, and I mean not good enough to even be on the bench.

No way he should lose his job this summer.

People will never learn with Howe.  He’ll be the toast of this place again in the near future.   The squad desperately needs a refresh which we haven’t been able to do.  He’s not above criticism but everything in context, he’s still performing well imo.  Keep the faith

Didn't think there was a lot wrong with our gameplan today to be honest, we started well and had spells of the game where we were well on top. The 2nd half started poorly, he made 3 early subs and we improved as a result. Gordon's red & Isak being forced off in quick succession threw everything off kilter. Extra time was a bit of a shitshow - both teams looked exhausted playing a man down but we looked as likely to win it as not. I'm annoyed at our lack of depth but that's not Howe's doing.

Either way, this summer is crucial in getting some fresh ideas injected into the club.

If it's Eddie at the helm, great. I still believe he has it.

If the club decide to go in a different direction? Not the end of the world.

He is, the biggest concern are the performances regardless of the results for me though. We haven’t played well for more than 10 games this season imo. Quite remarkable we are still in the position we are tbh.

There's been far bigger upsets in cup finals before.

Yeah no arguments there, I said it was just for me the league games are more important since I personally don't believe we have the players to win against Liverpool in a cup final. I don't think the players believe it, that's the problem.

You've got to commend it really, no clue brute has been at this for years. What I'd give for our team to have that level of consistency

Liquid piss come and tell me one thing which is incorrect, with what I said. It wasn't even challenging to see the deficiencies, in fact it was obvious, as it has been for most of the games recently. As I said the usual sheep will start to bleat

You could argue that shows how limited the tools we have are though. If we had more than a handful of top players, we might not see that inconsistency so much.

Fresh ideas as in players?
