Did Tindall get booked, by the way? I think it's a touchline ban if he did.

He did yeah. Not sure what for but it looked like it might have been because we had him and Eddie out on the touchline for too long

“Tindall was involved in a verbal exchange with the fourth official and shown the yellow card during the 3-0 win over Ipswich Town.”

that’s from the Chronicle and the BBC live feed thing said similar.

Wasn’t sure where to put this but what’s everyone’s thoughts on how this team/squad ranks vs 22/23 and 23/24?  It’s the best imo even though we may not finish with 22/23’s points total or even league position.

With our PSR restrictions it’s incredible really what he’s building.  More wins than City and Arsenal with 34 played this season.  It’s our ability to grind it out at times that has cost us. I really hope he gets the help he needs in the summer because I really think we are 3 maybe 4 players away from a title push.  Another top CB and RW.  Not saying we’d win it but definitely be in the conversation.

The squad is significantly better and the first 11 is a huge improvement despite some key players from that season having aged and deteriorated to greater and lesser degrees

The work he did with that 22/23 side was unbelievable relative to the ability of the XI that played the most (Isak was out for about 4 months etc.). Our incredible defensive record, the way he utilised Bruno, the Tripps-Bruno-Miggy triangle, axis of Joe, Dan Burn at left back [emoji38]

An absolutely outrageous coaching performance.

Love how much he shirks the limelight. After the few weeks he's had even the most cynical amongst us wouldn't begrudge him letting the players put him front and centre on the victory photo. Absolutely none of it, straight to the back. What a ledge.

A few “I don’t want to go to sleep” stats.

24/25 - 85 goals, 1.9 per game.

23/24 -102 goals, 2 per game.

1.75 goals per game over his whole time here.

(Keegan 1st time - 1.85

Pardew - 1.2
Bruce - 1.1)

Nearly 2 goals a game over nearly 4 years is outstanding like. When the day comes, hopefully decades down the line, that he leaves, it'll be at that point that we'll realise how spoiled we were like.

Over three months on, and one cup victory later, where are we at?

+9

The run quoted above was a gutter, but Nottingham Forest at home (+3), and away at West Ham (+2) and Leicester (+3, replacing Luton) have made a big difference.

The next four fixtures are very much about maintaining standards though:

Manchester United (h)

Crystal Palace (h)

Aston Villa (a)

Ipswich Town (h), replacing Burnley

We took the full 12 points from those fixtures last season...

Personally, I'm confident.

Down to +6 after Villa, but that's a satisfactory run for me.

We got 4 points from 12 in the equivalents of our last 4 fixtures of the season:

Brighton (a) - 3-1 loss

Chelsea (h) - 4-1 win

Arsenal (a) - 4-1 loss

Everton (h) - 1-1 draw

Every one of them is winnable this season. I think 9 points is a realistic hope.

Conte would be a real statement of intent. Still wouldn't mind Howe.

Was wondering who was the first person to mention Howe (in what became) the Howe thread? Take a bow… (sort of).

It’s remarkable what this man has achieved with a squad that hasn’t been properly added to in three windows while all our major rivals strengthened. If we finish in the CL spots then it defies belief how he’s managed that as well as a cup. He is the perfect manager for us

This year's vintage is a little more professional and is getting on with business.

22/23 was a bit more from the heart and passion led.

Said it before but you can see it in the difference in goal celebrations, distinct lack of knee slides.

I’m all for it if Bunce has banned knee slides

Let other teams mash up their ACL’s and meniscus when they score. We can keep our feet on the ground
