I think a new system would be the way to go away from home. Maybes a double pivot with Barnes Murphy joelinton and woltemade.

                   Woltemade

Barnes          bruno            murphy

           Joelinton  tonali

Hall      botman thiaw.        Trippier

                 Ramsdale

You could then use miley in place of big joe or Ramsey in place of bruno.

Elanga and Ramsey, imo. Wissa is unfortunate. I think in general we’re looking too much at a players physical attributes, and not enough on their footballing ability.

Ramsey is a good signing I think, probably not the best but if it’s an option between him and Willock, then you’d rather him.

Elanga was a disaster waiting to happen for the money we paid. We were linked with so many better players in that position as well. Kubo was available for the same price, he actually has an end product, tracks back, and presses high.

Howe is constantly wanting players he’s had before around him, be it constantly linked with Bournemouth cast offs, or the fact that Ritchie, Dummett, Wilson, and Rudy have all been offered new contracts for being good to have around the training ground meanwhile Liverpool are offering Isak money we can’t match. If they are good lads to have around, offer them a fucking day pass.

Everything behind the scenes sounds like it’s all been done so Eddie has control. He apparently clashed with Dan Ashworth over transfers, then had a spat with Paul Mitchell, as well as bringing his nephew into the recruitment team.

He’s got far too much power.

Have to be honest, I don't remember us being this bad last season. Weirdly we played poorly and picked up results, then played well and didn't, but it felt like it was coming.

This time we're playing poorly and aren't getting results, but it's the work in progress part that makes us an unknown. Last season we just needed to be more clinical in what we were doing. This season we need to find out what we're doing before getting to the clinical part.

Last year we were hopeless and tactically clueless until we started that run of wins. Not sure when the run started though?

To come to the conclusion that he's the thing that's not working is definitely a bit mental.

He bought the players he wants, he trains the team, decides the tactics, picks the team and makes (or doesn’t make) the subs.

Why is it mental to come to that conclusion?

The owners won't think that and rightly so. They have already sacked the women's manager after a poor start. Nobody should be allowed a free pass for any bad season. If we are in the same position for much longer and playing at the same level, he won't even last the season. That is the just the way football is nowadays. A massive period coming up to Christmas.

We aren’t going to catch Chelsea by adopting their approach to managers.

Why can't he motivate the team away from home ? The whole side just loses energy when we jump on a bus and leave St James.

I think they get deflated when they see Dan Burn constantly getting rinsed down that left hand side.

Ideally you get both, but I guess we're not quite there yet where we can easily get those kind of players. There's extremely few players in the world that are able to be effective in this league with ability alone. Just look at how much f.ex Wirtz has struggled this season.

If you can choose physicality or technique, physicality wins 9/10 times.

Sorry, but his team is fucking shit and he has to take a massive part of the blame.

Absolutely no intensity, unable to create chances, can't keep ahold of the ball and players playing below their level. Reactive substitutions and an inability/unwillingness to change things.

What if he can't change it like? How long does he get? We can't go on playing this bad and losing like.

The entire season and the start of next for me.

He largely constructed this mess of a squad. He needs help to reshape it and go again.

Well said. If a few had their way, we'd have used up our subs by halftime every game. I'm convinced that some are just never going to take to him, as they do this every time we run into patchy form, and then pretend that they didn't do this shit.

Is our away form acceptable? Absolutely not. It's ben a disaster, and he is seemingly making the same mistakes. We had spells like this every year since his first season, although this is probably the worst yet. Last year was pretty close though. We already had 5 losses near this time.

TCD and 54 are talking sense. Criticism is certainly warranted, but to not give him the season is just absolutely absurd. Some of you spent way too much time on FM, and want to tear up the foundation every time we run into a bad patch. Fortunately the board probably have more sense than a few on here. They could've easily axed him after his poor start when they took over, but they stuck with him, and it's born fruit. Howe clearly needs to do better, but seriously, get a grip, man.

Doesn't matter what you think, I think or anybody thinks, apart from the owners. I disagree that they will accept this over a season. Howe has a massive month and a half coming up. If there has been no improvement in that time, I'll be surprised if they didn't act. Time will tell.

Got tactically outmanouvered today by an inexperienced manager with a lot cheaper squad. Pair that with spending almost 100 million on Elanga and Ramsay and it does not look good at all.

He can turn it around but it has to happen quickly.

7 of the 11 league games we've had so far have been against sides in the bottom half of the table as it stands, including 5 of the bottom 6. Fixtures don't get easier and we've wasted some of the simpler on paper ones.

Roberto Mancini was the first to win City the league and then they upgraded. Am sure the supporters think fondly of him but none of them look back and think that was a mistake.

Its perfectly ok to take a club as far as you can.

It's good enough to be beating Leeds, west ham and Brentford ffs

And I still think we’ll end up above those teams. Not saying we haven’t under-performed, but we don’t have a team for competing on all fronts.

frankly we've wasted the bournemouths, brightons, and brentfords for the last few seasons. It's where he seriously needs to improve.

Owners are just as much to blame if not more.

The summer transfer stuff is their fault primarily then it’s Howe and the recruitment team.

Howe has been in charge of us for 4 years now. He’s currently one of the longest employed Premier League managers in the same job. If he went now, it’s hardly a revolving door.
