Tbf he made changes early this time. But has to go beyond just personnel.

If he was gonna drop Tonali it should have been the chance to try Wolte and WIssa up front and ditch that 4-3-3.

The actual thing in wondering about is why we look like we lack energy all the time, and why other teams who have the same load as us don't. I do wonder if our pre season preparation is poor, I always watch our training videos and then look like a massive doss tbh

 

I knew it was coming. They are shite but it's life and death to them, and we're banging on like its the 3rd most important game of the week, and that translated onto the pitch. 

 

I said it before we even entered the CL, that he had no experience of managing a european campaign, and he'd struggle. And he did. No Europe and we're ok, back to Europe and he can't manage the season properly. His signings are poor, and have probably hamstrung us for several years (unless Saudi bail us out and give us our money back) he lacks a backup plan, can't manage a game properly (subs & ET) and lacks any challange from within his backroom staff, the board and the majority of the fans (and players) There's nothing pushing him but himself, and that's just not working right now.

 

Do I want him sacked? Not sure. Feel absolutely nothing, just inevitability of the situation & result. But he no longer has any credit in the bank from me, and if he was sacked tomorrow, i'd actually be excited about getting someone else in. I'm far from exited thinking about the rest of the season under him.

It's all undeniably very stale. Just not sure where we're going. Certainly the transfers this summer don't indicate a particular change in direction.

I keep referring to it but there's no way Barnes should not be starting LW currently.

 

It really sends a bad message out to Barnes in my opinion - play well, score, contribute, and you'll still be benched for a lad who has had 2 good games in however long.

It would be a lot easier to defend him today if we'd gone there and had a go. Trying to absorb and hit a newly promoted team on the break just isn't it. 

 

Our entire strategy can't just be: defend, lure them in, Gordon and Elanga run fast. Especially against a team who are above us this season by doing basically the exact same thing and literally won't get "lured in".

Big questions for him and the board to answer. No way on gods earth this team qualifies for Europe via the league this season. Mid table at best.

Don't want him gone, but he has to start showing he can change a few things.

 

We are one of the worst teams in the league with the ball, we have no creativity at all, stop playing his favourites so much when better option (Barnes). We simply cannot sit back and absorb pressure.

 

We didn't even attempt to give it a go today.

I wouldn't want him replaced with whoever's available don't get me wrong, it would still be a very big call, but someone like Glasner or Iraola come immediately to mind.
