I've abstained from voting in the poll as I'm just not sure what is best for the club at the moment. He's turned it around quite a few times before but it feels worse this time and to an extent like he's lost the players, or at least that they aren't running through brick walls for him like they used to.

In seasons gone, I could never imagine a derby game under Howe looking so flat. Where has the team gone that used to go away to the likes of Arsenal and get right up in their faces?

Why are we so passive and negative?

When you look at the players available to us today, we should be controlling the game. Or at least trying to - granted it doesn't always work like that in a derby, but we genuinely didn't even try to push up the pitch as a unit. We attacked in twos and threes at best. Where has that fear come from?

This is the closest I've felt myself to turning against him, and I can see why other people have. This is the one where we really couldn't fail to turn up, but it's arguably the worst of a bad bunch of away performances this season.

I think this is pretty much spot on. Personally, I’m nowhere near turning against him, but all of the questions here are very valid.

As far as Howe's future goes, it's time to hunker down and just give him the rest of the season to work things out. I think we've hit rock bottom today, now the only realistic option is to hope Wissa can make a difference to how we are playing. The players look lost at the minute.

Same applies. It is not a shock read some of the extreme reactions, although yours was more nuanced was still a shock to read you verging on the same.

Well, the same doesn't apply because I'm not insulting you for your opinion, and I'd imagine admins of other forums (possibly even this one) would've just fucked you off for that, but I'm trying to be reasonable since emotions are high.

If you disagree with what I said, consider giving a nuanced response back.

Our away form is poor, as is our game management. They both feel like they boil down to our inability to keep the ball.

They're areas that need fixing and if Howe can't fix them, they might eventually cost him his job, but it's still very early days.

He's had us punching above our weight for years now, winning a trophy and qualifying for the Champions League multiple times, when we really had no right to be.

We're virtually in the Champions League knock outs, have a League Cup QF to look forward to and still in touching distance of the Europesn spots in the league, so it's far from a disaster and I'd hope our "supporters" would show a bit of patience to a manager who's give us so much to celebrate in recent years.

What's Howe done until now?

He has a higher win % with over double the amount of games Glasner has had. See where Glasner is after 200 games.

Well he's won a league cup and qualified for the Champions League twice.

But other than that... 🤣

God I remember that feeling all too well when we got Souness. Fucking grim.

Souness was brought in because his agent was that jock fucker I forgot his name now. The club seemed to use him all the time back then for shit players.

I don't think the club pulls the plug, as they've no clue who would be next. They'd need a good 3 seasons to react to needing a new manager.

I think they would and I'd be surprised if it hadn't already been discussed. Time will tell though, as I said earlier they changed the women's manager, so they showed that they will if they feel things are getting out of control.

I do think overreactions after an utterly dog shit performance against our hated rival is totally acceptable. Howe and the team deserve severe crtiticism for this shit. I of course still support him and think he can turn it around, but jesus christ that was fucking grim.

I'm glad we've got Captain Mood Music to tell everyone what reaction is acceptable too. Might even sign Guehi in Jan to keep us all on the level.

If we're pinning out hopes on one player making that much of a difference, then there is no point in giving him more time. It needs to be something else, something a lot more than that which changes.

Its baffling how we dont get better with the ball.

Not really. The manager clearly favours pace, height and strength over being able to kick a ball. It's taken us to some great places but is now coming unstuck and looks woefully short without a plan B.

If offered Glasner in today, would you do it?

Don't think I would tbh.

I don’t think it’d serve any manager to be airdropped into this club midseason. We’re also not in a position of needing to make an immediate change.

My point being is it's absurd to go on full criticism mode of people being rightly pissed off. There have been some colossal overreactions over the last couple of years, and many totally unwarranted. But not today. That was fucking abysmal.

I'm not pinning our hopes on one player, but he might make a difference. I don't see who is out there at the moment who we could bring in anyway, and why would we sack Howe when we still have quite a lot to play for this season?
