I'm not 'Howe Out', but as many have said, he needs to do a deeper rethink than he is letting on.

 

 

 

As others have said he has no knowledge or contacts in Europe / South America and he’s too confident in himself / arrogant to look at that. Will always hold us back.

I'm a huge critic of our summer, it was a shit show, but I'm not putting any of the blame at the door of the people who picked up the baton due to the complete lack of accountability from the people above them.

 

 

 

We still managed to get six big deals sorted (Woltemade, Elanga, Thiaw, Ramsey, Wissa and Ramsdale). For me they were capable of getting things done despite Mitchell bailing, they just went for the wrong type of players (namely Elanga and Ramsey). Obviously the Mitchell situation was a hinderance but I don’t think it was that big.

Only hope for this season is that when Wissa comes in properly, he has a Papiss Cisse like impact where everything goes in for him. Otherwise, I just can’t see how this team evolves to compete in any meaningful way.

Getting the players in the end was done, but it was who we got vs the targets that was (very publicly) an issue. With a proper DoF in place I think that at the very least we don't hear about the long list of players we couldn't get over the line.

We won 4 league away games in 2025 until late April. The 4 against the sides that finished 20th, 18th, 17th and 14th. We’ve added 1 to that total since. Its Christmas soon.

Since early Jan it’s West Ham, Leicester and Southampton last season, and Everton this season (which is more like an anomaly) in 16 games. It’s not good for a side that wants to be top 5. More importantly, it’s 8 defeats. 50% of games we lose, so unless you are faultless at home, it’s not sustainable.

The rejections from memory were for the Isak replacement which were Ekitike and Sesko, can’t recall any other. Don’t think we even bid for Mbeumo once he stated it was Man U only for him.

He’s very clearly still not capable of managing a relentless fixture calendar that demands rotation on an almost game-by-game basis to that same high level, though.

 

I’d argue that he’s as hamstrung by our squad quality than anything in that regard, but to be balanced, he’s had a massive hand in how we’ve used our funds.

 

We’re so rigid and reliant on partnerships/patterns that we’ve just looked like a mess too often this season when the personnel has changed.
 

Could write an awful lot more, but can’t be arsed. This season is sucking the life out of me after that cunt of a summer.

we went 4-1-4, and three of those losses were to City, Villa, and Liverpool (in which we got our asses kicked), and the 4th was to Arsenal. The away form wasn't earth shattering, but it wasn't terrible at all considering our home form in that time.

Elanga and Ramsey were long term targets, I don't think you can blame anyone else for signing the players Howe wanted.

The performances were also poor back then tbh. Even in half of those wins. Spurs had half a squad available, a child in net and we were clinging on towards the end. West Ham was a dross match. Man City was frankly an embarrassing showing given how poor they were at the time. Arsenal was as nonexistent an attacking performance as today was. Villa tore us apart.

they were not that poor. They were canters and a couple were after the high of winning the Cup final when our form could've fallen off a cliff. Our losses were hammerings apart from Arsenal (where we wouldn't have score for another 200 minutes). Some ar ejust completely rewriting history here. The away form wasn't wonderful but it was ok in that time. Now in this season, it's shit.

 

The away form was decent enough to set us up for getting the final CL spot, and frankly, those losses were expected. The result at home to Everton was the one that was not forgivable.

 

1 away win so far this season is dreadful.
