The rejections from memory were for the Isak replacement which were Ekitike and Sesko, can’t recall any other. Don’t think we even bid for Mbeumo once he stated it was Man U only for him.

And the rest. Delap, Joao Pedro, Ramos etc

And in other positions we were publicly in for and lost out on (off the top of my head) Trafford, Hujsen, Scalvini, Leoni.

Not sure why he’s made the post-match comments he has. It’s absolutely infuriating after a risible derby defeat to talk about the ‘good’ aspects to our performance.

The Jarman lad got another goal in suppose.

He really needs a win next game to turn this around .

Absolutely outthought tactically today by the Sunderland manager.

Blood and thunder approach by a tactically inferior team completely neutralised Eddie’s tread gently, light touch plan.

Horrendous decision by him and the coaching staff

Fair do’s forgot about Delap, Joao Pedro, Leoni, and Trafford.

Dont think Ramos, Huijsen and Scalvini were anything more than paper talk?

Even ignoring the fact it was a derby. We have seen similar performances away all season/year. Toothless in attack and a bit soft at the back in key moments.

Neither team deserved to win. But it’s more than a bit of a worry that the minute they’ve scored. Basically every NUFC fan knew it was game over and we wouldn’t score or even create anything meaningful.

Howe has turned it around before. So I won’t say I can’t see it changing or he won’t sort it. But the away performances and lack of any sort of gameplan or consistency. Is getting hard to see past. Just doesn’t seem like we are anywhere near to turning it around.

Throw in the fact that I have no idea what our best team is. We have too many key players out of form and we have a load of summer signings not performing (or playing). Then he certainly has his work cut out.

Can’t remember watching too many games under Howe where I’ve felt embarrassed and disgusted with the performance and the effort. But FWIW, that’s the third one this season (Brentford and West Ham).

I'm mostly worried about how disjointed our attacks seem and the general malaise that seems to have seeped in. Sunderland never got a sniff of a chance and really it should have been 0-0 but that is also a concern. No teeth, no bite at all in our attack. Still back Howe for the rest of the season but something has to change. Can the lack of training time affect us THIS much?

If that's the case, then it is obviously a serious problem for a club trying to challenge at the top.

0 points from losing positions this season is damning.

Add to that, let’s say roles reversed today and we’re 1-0 up going in to the final 10 minutes. We all know how that ends.

Pathetic.

Is that true ?

The plan isn't working and he doesn't seem to be able to change it, or even want to change it.

He needs some kind of intervention, a mushroom trip, something.

No he wasn’t [emoji38]

It was an awful game where fuck all was created by both sides and lost with a freak OG.

We were shit and they just about beat us. “Absolutely out thought tactically” come on man. This was hardly us getting pumped under Bruce and Pardew 3-0 every other week that had any sort of basic set up.

They were toothless as us. If the game would have gone 180 minutes I still think it would be 0-0.

Think if we fail to get Europe, and don’t win a trophy this season, that’ll be the end of him, and hard to argue against that.

The importance of European football cannot be underplayed, it’s crucial to having a chance in keeping your Tinos, Sandros and Brunos.

We struggled to sign players with CL, no Europe at all and our summer recruitment will be very difficult.
