I stand by what I said about Burn and Trippier being our fullbacks in 2026 like.

Better than Spurs full backs tonight

Whilst one sunny day doesn’t make a summer, I was delighted for him.

Looked so relieved at FT. The game plan worked pretty well, a huge improvement on previous matches in that there was a clear plan and attacking fluidity.

Let’s keep it up.

Sorry like but I think it's more "One day of drizzle doesn't make a flood".

He's done nowt but excel himself since her arrived here up until this season and even then we're only two thirds into it.

Another cup semi final. CL playoffs. Within touching distance of Europe.

You didn't notice how vulnerable they made us? We didn't win today because of our FBs like :D

Aye it's easy to turn a blind eye on a win but burn was really, really struggling out there. Trips was up against Tel so a free hit.

Maybe, but if we hold onto Hall and Tino in the summer better cover for them is something we badly need to address. I love Burn at centre back, probably time for Tripps to move on though.

Hall's been run into the ground and who would you play instead of Trippier? With a fit and fresh squad, neither are starting FB tonight - it's hardly like Eddie's blessed with choice currently.

Burn was struggling? Apart from the first 5-10 mins when he got caught out once or twice, I thought he was excellent.

Loved him cheering at the fans at the end there. Fucking class, delighted for him tonight.

Great gesture by Tripps.

He was terrible.

Go back and watch the second half. He was all over the shop. Settled when hall came on, but he was struggling.

I though Tripps had a decent game

By the way my post about the full backs wasn't a criticism on Howe so dunno why it's included in that mega post on the previous page.

It's more pointing out how poor our depth is in certain positions that we're forced to play two players out there who struggle for pace, and something we've known about for a while and haven't addressed, that's not all on Howe because I'm sure he'd rather have better options.

I do, but I'm also quite sure Eddie does as well. I just don't know what else should be done without Miley or Tino and with Hall really needing a rest.

I do think Eddie is stubborn with his guys to a fault and that is evident in his squad building and how he makes substitutions. We should have recalled Targett or found another fullback option in January.

Said before the game that i agreed with resting Hall.

But if anything the game showed that the posters were right to be concerned. So weird to shove it in their face.

Burn and Tripps both started the first half shakily but settled down nicely. They should never be the fullbacks but given that's basically all we have left they were solid today.

People just looking for something to complain about tbh, tonight it simply wasn't an issue.

He wasn't really challenged alot. But sure.

There were a couple of examples where you could see how vulnerable we are because of his speed though.

My post was when the line ups were announced to be fair. It's just been quoted again at full time.
