Just now, Novocastrian said:

Similar to well over a dozen games this season, we play well in spells and score. They score, then it’s a scrap and we mostly concede another or we grab a winner. We dug deep for the win but it was more of the same against an awful Spurs.

We were comfortably the better team for 80 mins of that game. Not sure you can ask for much else in a PL game.

Rolled the dice a bit with the starting XI but it worked and he got a tune out of them tonight. Totally deserved too, no flukes, bossed the first half and responded really well when they equalised. If getting a bit unorthodox and mixing shit up works then I'm all for it.

Delighted for him personally, he desperately needed a result and performance and he got it tonight. That's going to keep the wolf from the door

still not taking my own advice about complaining pre-game about the lineup. But my word. That looks grim.

Going to get rinsed down both flanks and I don’t think Ramsey plays well in a 3. Him and Willock also leave a lot to be desired defensively.

Burn and Trippier fullbacks?  Good God man. It's 2026.

Sorry but is he trying to get sacked?

If ever a line up screamed ‘I have no idea how to stop the rot’ then it’s this

Seems he is chucking things at the wall to see what sticks.

Fuck me. Hope he pulls a rabbit out of the hat tonight because that is some lineup.

The fuck is that line up man

Imagine being "Howe In" after seeing that line up FFS

Can’t see anything other than a comfortable spurs win having seen the lineup tbh. It’s all our weaknesses into one lineup. Still, it’s not like any other lineup has worked recently.

I'm sure we'll play some beautiful and entertaining football with that lineup.

Sorry like but trippier and burn full backs. Fuck me man

No idea what the answer is but that lineup isn't it. Happy to be proved wrong but Trippier and Burn starting premier league games as our full backs when even two years ago when we last had a tough period it was clear they couldn't do it anymore.

Full-backs with a total age of 68, combine this with our outstanding away form and how deadly AG has been whenever we play him as a striker….

In for a right show tonight lads

Can’t see us getting anything tonight - a write off for me with that line up and even taking spurs home form into consideration.

Whilst one sunny day doesn’t make a summer, I was delighted for him.

Looked so relieved at FT. The game plan worked pretty well, a huge improvement on previous matches in that there was a clear plan and attacking fluidity.

Let’s keep it up.
