Random comment here but I noticed a similar pattern with my friends/family and what I seen on social media, those who are super Brexit/Reform/Farage loving, absolutely HATED Nick Pope and genuinely thought Dubravka was a world class keeper

I never understood the link but it did amuse me 😂

I see it too 😂😂

I was just being mischievous, man.

Just want to add that this thread is a credit to the forum. Some top posts, thoughtful stuff, some disagreement but in the right spirit, probably a measure of just how good a man Eddie is that we discuss him like this.

Is there a similar one for Villa? That'd be interesting.

Assume it would be better in the seasons they missed CL, however I'd argue we would have coped ok in the conference league and Europa aswell as the standard is so much lower now.

Also I'd argue they were starting from a much healthier position squad and finances wise when Emery took over. So I see them as slightly ahead of us in progression.

Spurs are shit.

He still isn't proactive enough with subs, although you can argue we look worse any time we make them.

Good job regardless. Some of them guys are playing for him.

Had to win and we did, good on Howe.

Dominated long periods yet had to make it fucking difficult in the last 20 minutes again.

Massive calls to rest Hall, drop Wissa and sit Tonali down tonight and all of them paid off. Delighted for him as he looked absolutely beaten in after Brentford. Thought the subs were good too and he introduced Tonali at the right time, as well as Osula for energy and pressing rather than the other two who offer nowt in that respect.

We deserved to win that by more than just the one goal given the dominance, and would have done without the bollocks offside call, but we saw that out excellently at the end and we needed to show we can do that again and manage a game.

Spurs were absolutely garbage but given the difficulty to dig out away wins this year it doesn't really matter. Well done to Eddie, the staff and the players for tonight.

Similar to well over a dozen games this season, we play well in spells and score. They score, then it’s a scrap and we mostly concede another or we grab a winner. We dug deep for the win but it was more of the same against an awful Spurs.
