The club and Eddie have sat on their hands too much with player trading. They stuck with players they trusted. We now have a squad thats old, tired and without technical ability. It worked until it didn't. Even I'm sick of half the squad, and I used to adore the fuckers.

Yep, and a combination of over achieving with those players.

I'm still Eddie in, i think he deserves the chance to rebuild the team, start over with fresh players. I think we can all see the buying will be different going forward.

Aye, and that was Bruce's mistake too.

I’m still Howe in, bit more because I am not convinced we can find a better manager than an Eddie Howe at his best than the fact I’m confident he’ll turn this around. Eddie is a man of introspection and learning from mistakes though, so I’d still give him the start of next season on the odd chance he’ll rebound. I also don’t want his time with us to end on such a sour note.

Your username is apt, because that really is an unbelievable post.

Thanks for everything Eddie. Club should move with purpose to find someone to reset this rotting situation, and put ourselves in the best position to find a good manager while others dither.

Andy's point about ending up like Spurs feels very prescient.

And you trust him to do that? Not for me Clive after 60 minutes of the Elanga show.

I'm OK if the owners want to give him another season.

But on condition that has little or no say over transfers.

I don't agree. I think he talks about learning from mistakes so often that people have started to believe it, the evidence on the pitch suggests otherwise. The same problems continue to exist and he isn't doing anything at all differently to remedy them.

He has in majority of his time at the club to be fair, but I don't think now's the time to make this point mate.

Fair play. I don’t think now is the time to judge anything related to this club objectively though. People are saying Botman is shite, Tonali is shite, Howe is shite. This season has gone completely of the rails. I’m not sure we can turn it around, but I’d sure as hell love to see us do it. Much rather gamble on that than bring in a Mourinho and let it be all about him.

I agree but he is going to need to change the squad massively to get back to what we were. All of the signings we made in the summer are looking like ones I'd sell so I reckon we have snookered ourselves for a while and he will end up getting sacked next season anyway

Absolutely. Complete squad overhaul is needed. New players, fresh start with Howe.

So you want him to clear out all the players he's bought and try again?

The players are a disgrace, particularly the ones who’ve been shit all season but are now eyeing up a pay rise at a CL club.

I mean, if it’s the end then it’s the end, you can’t defend what we’re seeing on the pitch at the moment.

I still don’t think he has enough good players to call on right now to reliably win any PL match. And of course our confidence is shattered which makes it even worse.

I think performances will improve from here till the end of the season but only because of Bruno tbh.

Still Howe in. Will revisit that in the summer, if he's still here by then.

Next game is Arsenal…

I doubt we will do that but if he is going to stay and be successful I struggle to see him doing that with what he has chosen to bring in lately. If we could sell the lot of them I would

To me it's not a complicated scenario. Eddie has many qualities as a man and manager, but evidently some dastardly flaws, which have really become clear this season.

I think it's sensible to give him till season's end, while sorting his replacement and other issues at the club, then give Eddie a good send off.

You can love the good Eddie's done and also bemoan his infuriating traits. I don't see why that's so blasphemous to some.

I think I'm reaching the point where I don't mind what happens in the summer.

On the one hand, I believe in all of the things I've said previously - he's not the reason we are where we are, and a terrible end to the season is just the last domino to fall in a chain which started with PSR and Isak. We were designed to fail this season and we have done. They did their best, did alright in the CL, made a decent defence of the cup. But the Barca/Mackem week kettled it cos the league campaign has never looked like building momentum. Put it down as somewhat circumstantial and give it another bash next season.

On the other hand, there's no denying we're at a bit of a crossroads as a club and with more high profile departure/s to come in the summer, with awful negativity only likely to fester over the remaining games - maybe it's better for everyone that we have a clean break at this point. I don't know if they're done with the boss or just done with the season, but the players don't have it in them now.

Dunno, torn and feel awful. I'd see him go tomorrow if a sequence of bad results is going to cop him more and more of the disgraceful disrespect that's likely to follow. We'd never have any legends of Twitter existed in the 70s, 80s and 90s.

Its the same for every club to be fair. Footballers are fickle.

I'm sure Spurs wish they stuck with Pochettino those years ago. You have to get the next appointment spot on and that's not going to be easy.

We're more likely to end up like Spurs by sacking him.

Yeah that's on him and purely him and nobody other than him. For that amount of money spent it has been a disaster.

People that want him to turn it around next year are essentially banking their hopes on Howe's methods being adequate enough next year and for the subsequent season in Europe somehow with a transfer window this summer that is going to also work great for him, to then maybe hopefully play something other than his usual style that he sticks with for every game week in week out (that's already been figured out). Something he has never done.

I too think he will end up resigning probably at the end of the season.

I think he will be hurting at how this season has been and played out and I think he will want to not blot his copybook with it potentially carrying on any further (into next season).

This season has been so unacceptably bad that I think we've passed the point of no return now.

A drop off was expected by almost everyone and the goals were pretty modest and all it would have took to maintain parity and decent vibes but this is so bad its really eroded faith, hope and enthusiasm for even next season.

It's all crumbling to pieces in his hands, I still want him to succeed here and turn this round, one result won't change that for me but it has become a worrying pattern and he looks completely forlorn at the moment.

It's at the point now where you can't even point a finger at the issue, it's completely systemic, top to bottom an utter mess. All I know is that this doesn't get fixed before season end and I worry that either Eddie or his bosses call time on his tenure here.

Will a new manager not do that?

Do what? Sell some of the absolute garbage we've bought? I'm sure they will try aye but we might not be able too.
