Zero
I don’t like that quote from Howe to be honest. At that time I already said it won’t be well received by the players.

I still think that some of the other local hacks are pushing him to the front to ask the questions they don’t have the bollocks to ask The problem is that Ryder can mangle the simplest sentence very easily

Jesse Pinkman
lol oh no a journalist asked him a difficult question, the humanity. Some of the lads in here need to give their head a wobble. Edited May 9 by Jesse Pinkman
OverThere
The ultimate question would be how much influence did you and your nephew have on the incoming transfers last summer. I would love to know the answer to that one.
andycap
This trusted player malarkey he talks about should be worrying aswell. Majority of his best players were on the bench against brighton sends out the wrong message. Tripps Hall Ramsey Barnes Gordon Woltemade Wissa Elanga That's crazy sending a team out like that you'd think we were in Europe or something.

The sensible amongst us probably balance out what benefit is to be gained from getting “difficult” questions asked/answered and the knowledge gained as opposed to where that leads a further line of questioning and the problems it can create. So for argument sake I’d rather let EH man manage the squad he’s shown he can do magnificently over 4 years with absolute minimal fallouts or disciplinary issues than the need to know if and why AG will be playing the next 3 games and encourage any potential wedges between a current player and manager. Which gives the team the best chance of getting 3 points on Sunday? Thats what you want surely?

Heron
But we won the game, our first in 6, right? I don't get some of you folk like. It's not Hall FC just as it wasn't Tonali FC when he was tinkering with him and Longstaff. He eventually found a positive solution with some fine tweeking. Of course we ideally want our best players on the pitch and in the best combination, but when the combination and the personnel isn't working, one, the other or both need to change. The very thing half the folk on here whinge about. He did that and he won. Folk still whinge. Absurd. Edited May 9 by Heron

Heron
You're both correct. Results keep the fans on board - thats all that matters. Journalists are doing their jobs asking difficult questions that fans may otherwise be asking as paying customers of a product they may perceive to be below value for money (dare I say it). Albeit I don't personally subscribe to that way of thinking.

Yes… but that was not my point and not sure how you missed it after making it so clear. What do sensible fans prefer/choose… Whats the gain? As opposed to the loss…

Yes, supporters will have their own opinions re who should be in / out of the side, but Howe is clearly going to pick the side he thinks has the best chance of getting a result. If the results aren’t there, the manager will get criticised, of course. But personally I completely saw Howe’s logic re Hall / BDB. And it isn’t as if the back line has been so good this season that the players in it were undroppable. Hall has been off the boil for a while. NB this doesn’t mean I agree with Howe’s comments re Hall. Not sure if they were particularly helpful. But he knows the player; I don’t. Maybe he’s the sort of character who responds to that.
