I hope I'm wrong, but I really think that the club have made the wrong decision to keep Howe for next season.

I can't guarantee that his successor would be any better, but I know the look of a dead team when I see one

It’s a risk because if the team doesn’t start well it will be a mess. But also little reason to assume a meaningless May performance will continue into August.

Says all you need to know about his mentality that he ripped up last week's encouraging showing to incorporate Murphy and Burn and shunt Hall out of position again. Shit scared of our opponents and will never, ever get away from this obsession over height and running, with no interest in trying to play good football.

Got an awful feeling we'll spend big money on more runners, jumpers and shot putters in the summer and get off to our traditional limp start while we wait for the new signings to "click" or "get used to all the running", while other teams sign players who immediately play and contribute positively to their stronger starts.

Been on the fence for a while but limp dick showings like today really signals making a change as the right thing. We look bereft of ideas, completely lacking in footballing ability and totally shit at the back. Sick of hearing all the excuses and the "mitigating circumstances", we've been fucking crap for ages and he doesn't look like he knows what to do about it. Bang average sides taking the piss out of us on the reg, many with managers who are leaving in the summer.

I'd rather we shook hands now and wished him well as one of our greatest than see it turn nasty which I've a feeling it will by October/November if he continues without making massive changes to style, staff and playing squad. I don't think he wants to make those big changes and if it continues the way it's going I worry for us.

Not much positivity or momentum to head into the summer.

From me personally I was convinced once Eddie had time on training ground he'd sort it out. But nothing.:kinnear:

The amount of fucking times they changed things today, wouldn't even happen in sunday league.

I really don't understand the logic of keeping him for another season but lets hope he proves me wrong.

Fucking disgusting performance, tactics and everything yet again. Not sure he knows how to attack teams at all anymore and we just concede time and time again. Genuinely think he will be gone early next season

This does feel like we are getting used to losing just like Spurs under Ange which lead into this season.

Struggling with him now tbh but if he stayed it wouldn't annoy me because I'm willing to see if he can turn it around. 17 defeats is seriously hard to stomach though.

Posted (edited)

- Spurs escaping relegation

- Sunderland heading for the Europa League

- We are finishing 12th.

What a time to be alive.

How on earth Eddie Howe is surviving this I will never understand. He is a dead man walking. Get out!
