Howe has been linked with all 3. And those links are all we're privy to, we've no idea what's gone on behind closed doors. If he's been happy here and unwilling to entertain other offers then nothing will ever get off the ground. 

 

Yet not one of them actually made a move for him. Almost as if you can't believe everything you read.

Why would they make a move for him if his agent told them he wasn't interested? 

 

How many public pursuits of managers do you see that end up with the manager saying no? 

 

Emery hasn't been officially approached in the time he's been at Villa, does that mean nobody is interested in him and he's not been good enough?

Regardless of where we sit on Howe in or out . This summer means he's starting the season with the most pressure he's had in his time here. After the opening game we've a fairly kind fixture list but if we get the underperformances of last season against "lesser" sides he'll be gone .

"They just see things differently to you" is a very nice way of putting talking about probably THE Newcastle United legend of our lifetime's like he's something you're scraping off your shoe. 

 

No one's daft man, whatever criticisms people fairly or unfairly have for Howe, some of the stuff that's said about him amongst our fanbase is absolutely disgraceful and would be the case if he'd just been who he is and achieved nothing, but considering what he has achieved is as pathetic and disgraceful as it is baffling.

Honestly, the more I think about how Howe's legacy will be looked at in hindsight, the more I'm convinced that the Howe outers will play down and excuse the way they've gone on.

But anyway, astroguy was going on about what people are saying in this thread (the thread he apparently hasn't even been reading) and I dont think it's that bad at all.

 

I do agree though that elsewhere people go way OTT.  I read comments on Youtube videos and there are toon fans who seem to genuinely despise the bloke which is a bit mad

Our fan base has literally turned into the biggest bunch of cunts imaginable. Never made a squeak when Ashley was running us into the ground. Now after winning a cup and getting CL their world is caving in because we finshed 5 points off europe after getting bullied in the market and by psr with our most success manager. its fucking embarrassing and making up story's to turn on him

Howe was definitely in the Keegan conversation not too long ago. Who knows if Keegan had stayed long enough to have a bad season.

But there is a lot of people who when discussing the way we shouldn't sell or we should keep Howe also turn into Cunts as well, it works both ways. Some discuss it well but some just start ranting, wear you down until your can't be arsed to discuss.

Granted - but the idea that no-one said anything about the Ashley regime?  I gave up my ST after a couple of decades of having one, refused to put money into that cunt's pockets, it had an impact on my social life.  If people want to get themselves wound up like a bampot because someone disagrees on their opinion of a football manager (I mean, fucking hell) then they can go ahead.  But the sweeping statements - it is exhausting.

As someone who was at every one of those matches - there was definitely an issue there; but given that the match before that run was the 5-0 vs Man Utd and ended with the 7-1 vs Spurs with us still in the title picture, that wasn't exactly the same as finishing bottom half having spent a lot of money on a team which finished 5th the year before (and having outspent most of the teams which finished above us).

Saying everyone would be a sweeping statement definitely but I read it as the same people going on like brats now rather than the entire fanbase. Taking the rhetoric on social media now vs say about Pardew in 2014, it's absolutely night and day.
