Gets told to shut the fuck up, essentially.

After a really smug question where she floats the club bringing in an independent party to mediate the Isak situation

In fairness his first question wasn’t bad, but he’d clearly been told two max and he went for the third, even though Taylor had already been shut down.

Think his second one wasn't the one he intended to ask, just a response to Eddie's first answer. I didn't mind him going for it tbh, was a bit Draconian from the press guy I thought. Suppose it was just with them knowing it would be dominated by Isak stuff and wanting to manage it as much as poss.

Like what are they expecting him to say?

In nigh on four years I’ve not seen him slip up once. Change the record and stop re-phrasing the same three questions for the love of god.

Someone surely could use AI and recreate what the Isak situation would look like with Kinnear or Bruce pls

Here's what Chat GPT came up with. See if you can work out which is which:

Right, first of all… refusing to play? I’m gobsmacked. Honestly. Is that where we are now? I mean, I get it — Liverpool are a big club. They've got the history, the trophies, the lot… but we’ve stood by Alex, we’ve looked after him, given him the platform to shine...

...and now he’s turning his back on us? Like throwing a full English in the bin ‘cause someone waved a croissant at you. Madness.

Look, I love the lad. He’s a cracking player. But I’ve always said — no one’s bigger than the club. You don’t just wake up one morning and decide you're too good for Newcastle. You lace up your boots, you get stuck in, and you respect the shirt. It's like bacon — you don’t mess with a good thing, do you?

Bacon’s consistent. Reliable. You know what you're getting. What we need now is bacon-type loyalty — not this streaky behaviour."

(pauses to sip tea)

Sorry, I’ve not had me breakfast. Bit touchy.

We’ll speak to him, behind closed doors. But if he’s dug his heels in, well… we move on. We’ll find someone who actually wants to be here. Someone who gives 100% — like I would for a bacon sarnie at half seven on a cold Tuesday in Stoke.

"Refusing to play, is he? F'ing hell. Is this what football's come to now? He wants to go to Liverpool so he’s chucking his f'ing toys out the pram? Give me a f**ing break.

I’ve worked with f'ing proper players in my career — lads who’d run through a brick wall for their team, not sulk because some big-name club bats their f'ing eyelashes at them.

You don’t f'ing refuse to play for this club. Not Newcastle United. Not with these fans, not with this f'ing shirt. You’ve got 50,000 every week who'd give their left arm to wear the badge, and this lad’s turning his nose up because he fancies Anfield? Get f**ed.

I’m not having it. If he wants to go, he can come and say it to my f'ing face. But until then, he’s under contract, he trains, and he f'ing plays. And if he doesn’t like it, he can rot in the reserves for all I care.

We’re trying to build something here. I’m not bending over for some f'ing striker who thinks he’s too good for the job. I’ve dealt with bigger names than him — believe me. And if he thinks this little strop’s going to force my hand, he’s picked the wrong f'ing man.

So no — I’m not answering another f'ing question about it. If he plays, he plays. If he doesn’t, he can f* off. Simple as that."

Haha brilliant!

Think he needs a bit more of a Kinnear approach from here on in

The journalists are laughable - change the record man. Ask about the opposition, the fixture, the new season, the squad, formations, tactics, strategy. Just trying to agitate a slip up and he's already proven not to do that.

Howe never says owt controversial and yet every game week I find myself clinging onto his every word. He's the king man. Bout time the media started reporting his supremacy as a man manager in English football.

Kinnear as manager was my personal lowest ebb as a supporter. Any improvement would be brief, and any low wouldn't, or couldn't, possibly be lower. From a European side a couple of years before, to hiring a fucking Neanderthal (who'd been out of the game for almost a decade) a couple of years later, the game was absolutely up. NUFC would be on a downward trajectory for many a year

Right? It was fucking nuts. We'd suddenly become a real laughing stock. I was working my first little job in a supermarket and reading one of the papers spread out in the break room, getting ripped by everyone. Couldn't believe it was happening.
