I think far too much is pinned on Wissa right now for our deficiencies in attack. There’s no doubt he’s better quality than Osula, and him and Wolte sharing minutes would help, but don’t think our general play in making chances changes really. 

 

Many think him and Wolte will play together, but I can’t see that happening any time soon unless we’re desperately chasing a game. Had some reservations about our summer business and think as the season goes on, they will be solidified. Likely only one of our summer signings is in Howe starting XI if all fit and ready to play, which is damning. Usually want the signings to be lifting XI quality and bench therefore increases by previous players in XI moving onto it. Never a sign of good business when your signings are on bench.
 

Hopefully I'm proven wrong as the season goes on.

The season is long... we've had a bad start granted and signings haven't gelled, not fit, are injured - you name it. But we have had bad bouts in every season and usually start slow. 

 

There are 32 PL games to play - 96 points up for grabs.

Ah, so transfermarkt doesn't include add ons. You're probably right about the possibility of getting him a bit cheaper earlier. However I still think there would be some PL tax.

The one about Bruno is a fact. 

With Elanga, it just takes a while that Eddie gets him in the system. Same happened with Gordon and Isak. No worries there.

Our transfers were not great, but the squad is stronger. Wissa injury is a sickener, Woltemade can play in 4-4-1-1 with 2 CM or with Joelinton LW. He offers flexibility. 

 

Bruno has been awful, but I think the bigger problem is we have been too defensive at the start. Lacking our normal intensity and pressing.

I’m not sure how you think Isak should’ve been handled, unless you think we should’ve put our foot down and said no. He went on strike before anyone had even bid for him, and we accepted the second bid.

 

Our transfer business was ok, not great not terrible. Wissa and Elanga will turn out to be good signings IMO, but we did overpay, especially for Wissa.

 

We got rinsed for Thiaw as well considering the Como situation, but he has looked ok so far.

 

Jacob Ramsey is the only one that I think was a real mistake.

I think we were a bid tired of not getting anything over the line from previous windows tbh.[emoji38] Just accepted that we had to pay a premium..

in an interview with Woltemade he said Howe has said he will play together with Wissa rather than one off/one on

Heard it come in loads in recent times. Mainly the online statto, analyst types. Some of whom I actually like. So that isn’t necessarily a dig :lol: 
 

I wonder if it is pinched from American football? As in vertical (vert) passing routes.

We need to win a couple of back to back games in this period just to stay in touch, otherwise the season might already be blown by the time Wissa is fit again. 

 

I know that sounds dramatic, but by that I mean CL qualification next year will be very difficult. I'm sure we could still make the lesser European places.
