Are there any top teams in the world right now that doesn't have high intensity when out of possession?  It's a prerequisite at this point imo.

Maybe not this season (haven't watched them much since the manager change) but Real Madrid have been pretty successful without being gegenpressing monsters.

We are where we are in the Premier League table, but this season, all comps

P12 W5 D3 L4 G19 A10

xG 16.5 plus Bradford (say 3)

xGA 8 plus Bradford (say 1, for the sitter of a header)

We've only really been outplayed by Arsenal and nearly held on in that match anyway.

Given the summer disruption and starting the season with only Osula as a recognized striker, that's not a bad record.

It's much better than the narrative has been.

The first time last night that I though our front 3 clicked, especially in that second half. This must have been the way Howe wanted us to play with Woltemade, but we need to translate that to the PL where the intensity levels are ramped up a bit. Fulham might be an ideal fixture to put it to the test.

Journo’s (Hope in particular, surprise, surprise) absolutely desperate to get Eddie to go back at Slot in his presser this morning.

As usual, he just smiled and gave them fuck all in way of headlines.

One of my favourite things about Howe. The way he handles the pressers is great, even in challenging situations. Allways stays humble, even in difficult times, unlike the likes of Ange, Slot, Klopp, Arteta, Pep etc, who will end up making snarky comments and throw digs around.

Listened to the presser this morning - I think only the second time I've done that.

I'm not sure if they are all that good but today's was a thing of beauty. Bigged up Willock without a prompt, making sure he wasn't left out of the midfield conversation, whilst saying they are working to get him back to previous levels.

Refused to get drawn into Slot's nonsense, and also refused to fall into the trap of saying Tonali is world class, whilst still making him feel special and loved. Also praised Bruno whilst subtly acknowledging that he doesn't get enough rest.

I don't think there's a better manager for handling the media to get the right messages across, whilst keeping them at arms length where necessary/required.

They are. Every one is an absolute masterclass in emotional intelligence.

If he didn't have a heart and a huge dose of integrity he'd have made a great politician.

What's awesome about Eddie is how calculated and measured he is in everything he says to the press. In some parts of the world people HATE that  but I bloody love it.

The only time I've ever seen him mad was when he told them to fucking give it to Man U.
