Interpolic
Yeah there's no way we'll spend that much Looking at a transfer budget that's a 6th of our annual turnover like it's pie in the sky is exactly why we need change.

Raconteur
Not sure we've got many sellable assets either Dubravka and ASM would potentially double that “£35m kitty”. You’d have to think that, if it’s Ashley going forward, then those two at least would be off.
Super Duper Branko Strupar
Kinda feels good to start getting back to the thinking of fucking this all off again.
relámpago blanco
If we just have 35m we should just buy a striker and nothing else. IF we had an extra 15 goals this season we would have finished a lot higher.
Yorkie
Not sure we've got many sellable assets either It'll be interesting to see how the market has changed this summer but I think there's plenty of places where we could rake it in. Lascelles, Shelvey, Joelinton, ASM, Almiron would all go for £10m+ imo, and at least two of them would probs be £20m+. Then there's the likes of Dubravka, Dummett, Schar, Hayden and Longstaff who would probably all go for something in the region of £10m; Gayle and Ritchie too, assuming anyone in the Championship has got money, though the latter has obviously just signed that farcical contract so it's doubtful he'll be leaving. GWN
No club in the world would pay £10m for Ritchie other than maybe Newcastle United. Or Sunderland, if they weren’t in a tin pot league.

LFEE
No club in the world would pay £10m for Ritchie other than maybe Newcastle United. Is that a criticism of us paying £10m for him in the first place? He’s been a great signing.

Yorkie
No club in the world would pay £10m for Ritchie other than maybe Newcastle United. Don't agree at all. £10m on Ritchie would be a low-risk signing for any Championship club with genuine aspirations of promotion; and if we were making him available, which we would be if we had any wit or ambition at all - I'd be insisting on offers over that. Same with Gayle. Both of them are machine-like at that level and they're only 29/30 so easily worth a three-year contract or whatever length of time normal clubs give to their new signings. Menace
20m on Richie/Gayle would turn a team chasing play offs into top 2 in the Champ.

Rafa was slowly phasing him out though would’ve still got some game time this season as wasn’t pushing him out the door because of his attitude in training etc and general leadership. If there had a significant bid for him last summer he would’ve probably took it and put towards an upgrade. It’s these tangibles people don’t take into account when those who ridicule the appointment of Bruce get criticised. Him and Shelvey deals say just as much about the club under Bruce as the actual poor results.

Shearergol
How is Ritchie done? Ok, done as a "top 2 championship" player. He'd be fine for a mid-table championship team for a year or 2. He's been woeful for us this year.
Guest Butcher
He'd walk into WBA's XI.
Yorkie
This latest injury will be telling as to whether or not he's 'done', but the bloke's energy and stamina had been absolutely exceptional up to now. Talent-wise his ceiling is mid-table, and I think he's more or less played at the same level he has since he day we returned to the PL. He'd be an incredible asset for any Championship team.
