Raconteur
Fuck has he been watching? He's been absolutely shite. Imagine letting Shortstaff go because you don't want to pay him £30K a week and signing this cunt for £50K a week more. Should be a sackable offence in and of itself. Fails any basic competency test. Imagine letting Shortstaff go because you don't want to pay him £30K a week and signing this cunt for £50K a week more. Factor in the few million quid transfer fee and signing on fee too. He's the exact signing we shouldn't be making.
Ketsbaia
Loaning Bentaleb was a farce but to make it permanent would be pure stupidity.

Raconteur
If the buyout doesnt happen we should lock this thread - will be too depressing. Nonsense, the excitement of learning to pronounce the name of someone plucked from second division France is so much more than Saudi fantasy football. Who wants Messi or Mbappe when you can have... someone no one outside of Burgundy has heard of.

Yorkie
£35m plus player sales would represent our second highest summer spend in Ashley's history. Second only to the McClaren season.
Raconteur
Except in Ashley’s world, that £35million covers fees and agents and wages. Plus, it doesn’t exist and might very well be moot anyway...
Interpolic
Yeah there's no way we'll spend that much Looking at a transfer budget that's a 6th of our annual turnover like it's pie in the sky is exactly why we need change.

Raconteur
Not sure we've got many sellable assets either Dubravka and ASM would potentially double that “£35m kitty”. You’d have to think that, if it’s Ashley going forward, then those two at least would be off.
Super Duper Branko Strupar
Kinda feels good to start getting back to the thinking of fucking this all off again.
relámpago blanco
If we just have 35m we should just buy a striker and nothing else. IF we had an extra 15 goals this season we would have finished a lot higher.
Yorkie
Not sure we've got many sellable assets either It'll be interesting to see how the market has changed this summer but I think there's plenty of places where we could rake it in. Lascelles, Shelvey, Joelinton, ASM, Almiron would all go for £10m+ imo, and at least two of them would probs be £20m+. Then there's the likes of Dubravka, Dummett, Schar, Hayden and Longstaff who would probably all go for something in the region of £10m; Gayle and Ritchie too, assuming anyone in the Championship has got money, though the latter has obviously just signed that farcical contract so it's doubtful he'll be leaving. Shearergol
No club in the world would pay £10m for Ritchie other than maybe Newcastle United.
GWN
No club in the world would pay £10m for Ritchie other than maybe Newcastle United. Or Sunderland, if they weren’t in a tin pot league.
