There is still entertainment to be had. Every laugh hurts, of course. But we really have little other choice.
Guest reefatoon
Every single transfer window is the same. It's absolute agony, but you can't help gawp in disbelief and smirk.
Disco
It’s amazing watching the Brucicle coverage of this hot shite. The coup of Hendrick met with a barrage of Jiminy Jillickers and subsequent puff pieces about how class he is, honest; and how it’s coup of the year. The framing of anyone who costs money being greedy or their clubs overpricing them. The linking to players they’ll know are already doing medical etc elsewhere. The framing of going down the Sunderland loan route is good for the club and not spend thrift.

John P
To be fair to Armstrong, his stats in the Championship last season (not just looking at goals and assists) were very good. But it would feel strange re-signing him and not exactly a transfer to excite people or suggest we're going to do anything but struggle this season. Lenny
I always liked Armstrong's playing style, but it's not an inspiring signing. Not that I'm anything other than mostly checked out at this stage.
mrmojorisin75
Armstrong cannot play central striker in the PL like, doesn't have either the pace or physicality imo. Last thing we need is another striker that's not a striker ffs.

But you are right about not being an out and out striker
TRon
If Armstrong hadn’t already been here he’s the sort of player we’d be a bit interested about. Similar sort of figures to Eze. Maybe we’ve got some sort of sell-on clause so thinking of the cashback we’ll get from the deal. Never rated him though. It's transparent as fuck though. No imagination, no strategy, just familiar and bonus Geordie. Andy Carroll all over again. Big Mike will be laughing his wobbly tits off knowing a fair few chumps will go along with it because he's one of our own.

TRon
Armstrong isn't even a big shot in the championship man. The only purpose in bringing him here would be Geordie PR.
mrmojorisin75
If we're going champo it would have to be the lad at Brentford. He's gonna be good imo.
James
If we're going champo it would have to be the lad at Brentford. He's gonna be good imo. He’s good but not a CF. Other than Carroll we still have no CF who can lead the line in the truest sense of the word

Take James point to a degree, he's not a Carroll type gonna successfully fight for hoofs with Bruceball but then neither is Armstrong, which was the point. Watkins physically better suited imo, reminds me of Calvert-Lewin a bit.

Carroll is a centre forward from a bygone age, but in this day and age they need more - Watkins is very much a modern centre forward. Good mobility and creativity whilst being decent in the air (he scored 8 headers last season) and a goalscorer. He can play wide but he spent the vast majority of last season as a central striker. Dr.Spaceman
I had no idea people were seriously discussing us signing Armstrong. Mental. We should 100% be after someone like Ollie Watkins though, his movement and the variety of his goals would suit our style of play imo.
