Sir Toon
We've done alright this window. A £37m spend on DW Sports and a chunk out of Hugo Boss as well. Not forgetting the big stake in Mulberrys earlier this year.
Away Toon
Newcastle have joined the list of Premier League sides interested in a move for 20-year-old Liverpool striker Rhian Brewster. (Chronicle) Presumably not to buy him.
Raconteur
Didn’t our resident Liverpool fan say he’d rather Origi left so Brewster could step up as the understudy? If we’re playing with loans and frees, we could do a lot worse...

St1pe
Steve Bruce probably thinks Cruz Azul is a playable race in D&D One of the reasons I hope the moneyball consortium make a move for us is so we aim for these outside of the box type of transfers. The type that could really get you ahead as a club without potentially costing your club it’s whole budget.
KaKa
Yeah, watching that was just sad. Just a guy with a youtube channel, albeit a really good one, and you know he has thought things through and has more creative and financially viable solutions than our entire recruitment team has, and he likely doesn't even support Newcastle. It's embarrassing man.

TheInfiniteOdyssey
The ironic thing about Ashley's penny-pinching approach to recruitment is that it actually costs the club significantly more over the long-term by refusing to meet the valuations of quality players like Aubmeyang, Lacazette, Tagliafico etc. Then we end up paying over the odds for players like Muto, Joelinton etc.

Just as annoying is the lack of effort in identifying the talent that can be had for reasonable fees. It's not an impossible approach, but it's clear we don't really do it properly. We should have done everything we could to have got Brentford's Director of Recruitment Phil Giles on board, he's a massive Newcastle fan and his work at Brentford has been incredible thus far

Consortium of one
And look at the talent we let go or give away: Abeid, Mbabu, etc. Not world beaters any of them but very solid squad players at least.

It's just horrendous man. Christ. We've got nobody at the club that knows anybody in football. Even Bruce. I bet beyond shaking hands with the opposition manager he doesn't even give a nod of acknowledgement to the other staff. He only shakes the managers hand cos it's on the telly. Absolute Elsewhere
And look at the talent we let go or give away: Abeid, Mbabu, etc. Not world beaters any of them but very solid squad players at least. Most of the young players we have let go haven’t been good enough or gone on to be a premier league level player and they wouldn’t get a game for us now other than probably Mbabu. TheInfiniteOdyssey
Find it strange that people are arguing against Abeid being a solid squad player In the time he was let go , we regularly had Colback in midfield Not to mention even just last season, we had garbage like Bentaleb, Schar (as a midfielder) in there, couple that with the distinctly underwhelming performances of Longstaff, and there's seriously not a case of Abeid being a good option?
