Realistic Transfer Targets (2025/26)

Recommended Posts

He’d cost a fortune, no? High profile player and in arguably the team of the season so far.

If they were quoting around £50m for Semenyo. Then Kluivert would cost more, I’d say.

Doesn’t he play as more of a 10 or LW and all?

The time to buy Kluivert was summer 2023, Bournemouth took the chance on him and fair play to them. He’d cost far to much now.

Yeah same with Huijsen missed the boat in summer when we were getting linked.

One for next season if we want to spend on a 2nd striker, Thierno Barry. Joined Villarreal for E15m in summer, still looks slightly raw from the odd glimpse I've seen of him, but feels a player there. Scored many elsewhere, so was always interesting to see what a step up would be like, and it's been good in fairness.

Matias Soule on loan with an obligation to buy would be great before the close of the window.

He was amazing before joining Roma but I think the churn of managers has unsettled him and also the number of new players they boughy. Should hopefully mean that he may be cheap.

A class RW who can drift centrally, exactly what we need.

There is interest from Fulham but I think we would be a bigger lure.

Get it done Mitchell

There must still be some major PSR concerns if we're still cutting back our squad without replacements. Honestly can't fathom it otherwise.

We risk the season petering out if Arsenal turn us over next week.

I mean if we ended up with Huijsen and Cunha for £110m, I’d be happy with that as the only spending we do this summer

I wouldn't. Another year with no quality goalkeeper, no dedicated right winger. Or are you making Cunha into a RW full time?

I'm not sure about Huijsen yet.

Always wary of players who look good in a specific system such as those at Brighton or Bournemouth.

Agree I think we missed the boat as well. 50m for a centre half is a lot for us. Our squad needs a lot of renewal.

Cunha isn't a right winger from what I've seen so I'm not sure how he fits unless we are selling Gordon or changing system.

I'd love Cunha, he'd fit us like a glove, but we have much bigger needs in the squad right now.

From what I've seen which obviously isn't enough I really like him too, but kinda like NO favourite MGW I don't quite see the fit for us/affordability.

Aye, he'd come in as an option for LCM/LW/ST. If that was RCM/RW/ST then fine.

It's all gone quite on the Angel Gomes front. I've not kept tabs on him but if for no other reason than a cynical PSR flip he would surely make sense. Based on what I saw for England, hin in and Longstaff out would improve us as a team. Him behind Bruno and Tonali could be a good combination, especially in games where Joelinton is not able to make the most of his physicality and his lack of technical refinement is highlighted.

Cunha is fantastic.  But I'd imagine he'll have better offers for a start and I don't see how he fits in our system at all, personally?

Unless Howe tweaks the formation back to something like his old 4-2-3-1, that I think he played at Bournemouth or something similar to what we played against Arsenal.  Then where does he play?  He seems perfect in that Wolves system as 1 of 2 behind the striker.  It's like he has free rein to do what he wants and it is usually for the benefit of the team.  People often associate that attacking mid/10 sort of role as a luxury.  But he has that workrate and tenacity to go with the quality on the ball.  Well, he does whenever I watch him.

All that said.  I'd be absolutely buzzing if we signed him   We'd fit him in somewhere.

Huijsen would probably be a good signing in terms of strengthening the team, but to splurge 50 mill on him a year after he was available for relative peanuts is pretty embarrassing business. Bournemouth would think we are mugs and rightly so.

The only reason Bournemouth got him that cheap was because they were prepared to accept a release clause. If he leaves them in the summer, I think Bournemouthfans will think he'll be going for far less than they could have gotten without the clause. He's basically following the Haaland strategy to avoid being priced out of an opporunity to progress his own career.

Forget Angel Gomes - the best free transfer for us is Tom Bischof from Hoffenheim - literally the Howe prototype

Already signed a pre-contract agreement with Bayern.

Shame as I reckon he could spread the ball around like..
