Kieran Trippier: has a chance to play against Everton (Howe)

Recommended Posts

Scenes when he's sold for around £10m and it has no impact on FFP.

Unless it's daft money like £30m, which would still be stupidly low and only that low because of his age, I don't see how it's worth it at all. I barely see how it's worth it even at that fee.

I’m such a naïve little princess that I thought/hoped he’d retire here and move onto the coaching staff.

So did I... not gonna lie, this one has shocked me and sadnned me to the core tbh.... selling one of the best full backs in the world statistically, someone who has been so influential in everything we have achieved on and off the field  over the last 2 years for what ? To bring in that midfielder from Everton no one has heard of.... he was the glue that held the dressing room together.... could see us falling down the table further now and see other players like Bruno and big Joe follow him.... terrible news... with out a doubt our most important signing in a generation

If we don’t use this as a way to get a player from Bayern but instead prioritize one of those premier league players C Waugh mentioned today in the athletic then I’ll be fucking furious like. Would really question the strategic plan.

Feel incredibly similar. Not necessarily a Bayern player but a player that improves the first XI.

We have a gaping hole in midfield week after week, may be selling our most creative player. So we'll still need a midfielder if this was to happen but on top of that our right hand side will be even more ineffective offensively than it already is.

Not trying to start an argument, genuinely just curiosity, but for the people rationalising with 'if we get good money for him'.. What do you think is good money for him? Because however much we value him, I think we'll be lucky to exceed £15m considering it appears he's pushing for the move, 33 years old and has 18 months on his contract.

I don't understand the uproar to be honest. It's been clear many times that this is a long term project. I don't think that our team will fall apart if we sell Trippier, definetly not considering the form he has been in. Are we supposed to keep him until he's 35? Feels like many people are just ignoring his age somehow. In todays football you have to trade players, whether you like it or not. Football is different from what it was 10-20 years ago. I might have to eat my words, but don't think that it's going to make a very big difference to the rest of the season unless Livra gets injured (I know that may happen, but it's not a cerainty).

And again it might very well be that something is going on and that he wanted to leave, like others are saying. I also don't get why that would be a crazy thing. Players often want to change club nowadays, that's also different from 10-20 years ago.

He’s a true leader, he’s doing it to help us out of our FFP hole [emoji38]

If it's 15 mil, I'd rather keep him as he's that valuable to the team regardless of age but it seems he wants the move so what can you do.

Suppose that’s kind of the point. If they did offer significantly more than that, every player has a price.
