Knew we should have sold him to Bayern at the time.

If the best we are getting now is loan offers, that is really unfortunate.

Yeah, what happened after that window was pretty predictable. But it was barely allowed to even suggest it back then, without getting the forum mob after you.

They seemed very much together at the weekend 🤷‍♂️

I’m not doubting that you know them, but I would doubt that they’d share information on whether he’s leaving the club or not.  I would’ve thought that the ‘happy here, no intention of going’ line would be said to anyone who asks - other than to immediate family or agents.  There’s a hell of a lot of noise around him leaving for it to be fabricated.

Livramento is a very good defender, defensively better than Trippier, but doesn't come anywhere close to him going forward at the minute.

I think we miss the Trippier we had until halfway through last season. He was a massive outlet. He improved every player he had in front of him and so much of our play came from him. Easily the best full back we've ever had, the definition of elite level. He made Ryan Fraser look good ffs.

There's an argument were more balanced now but we definitely miss his ability on the ball. Still think he has a part to play tbh but Livramento becoming first choice had to happen at some point. Seems Howe has decided it's now.

I doubt that Trippier will still be able to play with the same intensity running back and forth like he did last year though. His right foot will still be pretty good, but if he can't keep up with the pace of our game, then that's going to be a problem.

You're probably right. I'd just be surprised if he's asked to leave / if he was desperate to leave. There's every chance he may leave, I know... it just goes against what they're telling people 🤷‍♂️

Absolutely huge signing. He said in an interview he wanted to keep playing and was happy to drop down the leagues if need be if his body wasn't up to highest level so not surprised he would rather move on than stay on a bench. Sad there's a bit of a cloud but he has been a huge servant to the club, lifted the club and set a high standard. If he does go we absolutely need a new right winger otherwise i fear our right side will be incredibly blunt

£5-10m plus wages saved or keep him till his contract expires. I'm not sold Livra does a full season without some medium term injury.

Shame he didn't go to bayern. Could have made a huge difference to psr and may not have needed to sell like we did.

As much as I admire Trippier and love him for how he helped turn the club around, I have somewhatost my attachment to him in the last 6 months or so. Something just doen't seem right. I can probably point to that incident he had with one of our muppet fans down at Bournemouth and found it surprising he would react in such a way, although entirely justifiable too, that he was finding the going tough. Maybe personally, maybe age-wise was catching up. Even when he was with England at the Euros, I felt a bit strange watching him as if it was an indicator for me that he won't be our player for much longer.

I'm just rambling at this point now but I truly do appreciate and love him for how he lead the team in his time here but if he wants to leave, whatever the reason he gives, then just let him leave.

Being together doesn’t mean he’s staying. If he’s done cheating in Newcastle area, it’s probably a constant reminder to his wife, and moving away helps with things and a fresh start.
