Nine
Great news, the fee would have never covered what we’d have lost if he left.

Then why did they even try in the first place if they weren’t 100% convinced? Imo they never had any encouragement from the club or Trippier. They just thought they’d big club bully us into accepting (Plettenberg and Falk being part of that), get Kieran ‘round the table, offer him much higher wages than he’s on and that’d be that. I was of the opinion a few days ago it wasn’t happening but good to know they’ve officially been told to do one.

brummie
He has got a very lived-in face, hasn't he, Trippier? A sort of World War 2 / rationing / tough upbringing look to him. Like he did a few years down the mine before getting discovered. James Milner is similar. Looks like at some point in his young life, he was forced to resort to eating coal and grass. Anyway, I like him. I know he's a clanger-magnet these days, but I still like him. He looks like what moron ex-pro commentators would call "an honest pro". huss9
love tripps but £20m would have come in handy. their offer was nowhere near enough to justify selling him. one of the few saleable players other than botman/bruno/isak.

Kid Icarus
Overjoyed he stays. Football for me is so much about the sentimentality and sense of belonging that keeping people like him brings, even at the expense of progress. I know it's daft, I can't help it.
