I’ll take 8th next season right this second.

We are two points behind 8th this season with all the problems we have faced. Wouldnt take 8th now for next season at all.

A lot of The Times people with minor acl injuries are told they can still play with it as long as it doesn't flare up. And I think that's the case with him, but it seems to have finally gave up pn him.

It was very clear. He was playing injured as he was nowhere near his original form.

I can accept myself and others are putting 2 and 2 together and getting 74. I can accept the club have acted on specialist and 3rd party advice (although I’m sure it was reported at the time there were some advising on the op, some not).

What I can’t accept is that someone who missed 3-4 months with an ACL problem. Who returned and looked physically miles off it (sorry, Shadow Puppets ) and is now having an ACL operation. Has suffered a fresh, unrelated injury in the same knee.

There is no way they are not related.

Absolutely they are related

Mean the guy was just supposed to be out for a week, then spent like 3 months out, with nothing but rest for a knee injury, and has looked way off pace wise and confident wise since then.

It’s fair to say loads of specialists said it was fine, but most people been saying since he’s come back, something is clearly not recovered and he must be carrying some injury.

I think it’s absolutely possible that they’re related injuries…of course it is. What I’m saying is, factually, the club have been working on the advice of 3rd party specialists and Sven and the club had felt very confident that surgery wasn’t required based on the specialists advice.

Whoever you choose to blame out of all of that is up to you.

Not to labour the point, but is it not just that we got terrible luck with absentees (injuries carrying over from last season, a gambling ban, two fractured backs, a broken foot, two shoulder dislocations, etc), then picked up subsequent soft tissue injuries due to players being ran into the ground or returned from injury too quickly to cope with the intensity of the fixture pile up?

Yes… pretty much all of that is correct. The only thing I don’t agree with is that I think, right now, there’s no need to be playing Longstaff when Miley is (presumably) fit on the bench.
