ElDiablo
Second touch is a tackle masterclass from him today. He works hard and is smart tactically/positionally though, so you can't knock him too much.
TRon
I sometimes wonder if you stuck Schar up front whether he would look any worse. I mean that's slightly tongue in cheek, but his first touch is usually terrible.
HaydnNUFC
Ball didn't stick to him today. Poor.
AyeDubbleYoo
To be fair to him, Chelsea are pretty much the best team at picking players second balls from any kind of poor touch. He was poor today but it was a very though task.

OoOGazOoO
Balls just bounced off him today, wonder if he had boots on the wrong feet?
Holloway
Had a stinker today after his joy the other night. Had we been missing his input for the last 8 games and had Maxi or Gayle up top instead we would still be scrabbling about for points
Newcastle Fan
His contributions to our run are highly appreciated but he really needs to pick up his game, he works hard but lacks so much basic footballing ability, can't pass, can't shoot, can't dribble and can't hold up the ball properly on the ground, i guess years of playing for Burnley does that for you. Shearergol
I’m quite happy to accept him in the team this season and us staying up, but if he’s even on the bench next season it’ll be a massive failure. Such an average player.

Thiago
Aye, we needed more from him today in possession. Ah well.
Guest
Thought yesterday was his poorest game since he arrived. Nothing stuck or went to one of our players all game. Hopefully being up against a defence more his level on Thursday will bring something back.

Going up against that Chelsea back lines a different kettle of fish as you say but he’s played full 90 for the last 10 games or so.
Guest
I think he’s been an average 6 out of 10 in the majority of those games. Southampton was an 8, yesterday was a 4.

sugoinufc
One good header in 10 games. Im really not a fan. Surprised how poor he is at everything almost He should be shipped this summer or stay as 3 choice.
Dr Jinx
I was watching him yesterday and he is absolutely integral to the high press, barking orders at Almiron and Murphy on when to move. Watch him next time and you'll see what am talking about. Don't think any of our players were amazing yesterday, we were up against very good opposition and we matched them for 99% of the match. Chris Wood is sacrificing himself for the team, he's got the right attitude and his work rate is second to none in this side. I would not take him out of the side even when Wilson returns. wormy
I respect what he's doing for the team but keeping him ahead of a fit Wilson is madness.

His pressing is more evident when you are at the ground, no complaints at all on that score, but you still need to be a good footballer to be in a decent side. He's not. I didn't say i'd keep Wilson out for him, what i mean is when Wilson comes back in, let him play on the right side of the front 3. We're stronger with Wood in the team

Mazzy
If we're going to be playing with a back 3 then we could well have 2 up top, so no reason Wood/Wilson wouldn't be a partnership for the last few games this season. Takes alot of the burden of Wood playing as a sole striker and allows Wilson to play off him without having to do all the chasing like he did early season. When Wilson is back let’s sacrifice one of Fraser and ASM, who score and create goals and shoe-horn Wood in because he runs around a lot and shouts things at people. ’kin hell. I know he seems like a decent lad, but he’s absolutely shite.
