Keggy_Keagal Posted Saturday at 18:42 Share Posted Saturday at 18:42 He had a bad game . Worst in a while . Lots of niggly stupid fouls. Guys a winner hates getting beat don't mind that . Also several others had as bad a game . If Schar hadn't scored he'd be rightly getting hammered.

Doesnt really look like captain material, he doesnt keep his head when others are losing it, so apart from convincing him not to leave by making him captain, i dont see the rationale. In tiredness, i initially read that as ‘could easily have had 12 yellows’ and i still thought ‘yep’
SiLvOR Posted Saturday at 18:43 Share Posted Saturday at 18:43 I think the worst thing I can say is he made Tielemans look like a generational athlete today
andycap Posted Saturday at 18:47 Share Posted Saturday at 18:47 Petulant bugger mind isn't he? 😂 Let's the game get to him when we need him to be more resolute and concentrate on his game.
Kid Icarus Posted Saturday at 18:48 Share Posted Saturday at 18:48 Targeted by them as someone to wind up and enabled by the ref.
Newcastle Fan Posted Saturday at 19:02 Share Posted Saturday at 19:02 I think it's the first time i see a midfield with Tielemans in it beat us, our midfield balance was so off today and Bruno was having a stinker, nothing he did came off and kept getting frustrated and committing silly fouls. Harry 209 Posted Saturday at 19:31 Share Posted Saturday at 19:31 Again we have some people saying "he's not captain material". Are you saying that before today's game, if you'd had your way, you'd have taken the captaincy off him? Under Bruno's captaincy we are 3rd in the Premier League and have won the League Cup. He has bad games sometimes. And he's an excellent captain who for the most part has galvanised and motivated the team.
nemtizz Posted Saturday at 19:53 Share Posted Saturday at 19:53 Diving and acting like a petulant twat aside, his weight of pass in the final third is annoyingly inconsistent.

He was so frustrated at himself the last ball he tried behind their defence. A part from the ball over to Isak nothing fell his way today.
Yorkie Posted Saturday at 20:40 Share Posted Saturday at 20:40 Played 112 games since the beginning of last season, with fuck knows how many long haul flights to and from South America, including for Copa America. It's a miracle he's still moving at this point, let alone playing decent football.
Mattoon Posted Saturday at 20:46 Share Posted Saturday at 20:46 I absolutely love Bruno, he bleeds black and white, but it's to his own detriment, he definitely needs a rest and he needs to stop that nasty streak when the game isn't going well for him. Having said that I think more than one of his "fouls" was grade A* play acting by the opposition, which probably wound him up even more. No, he hasn't had a good game in a little while, but he was a beast in the League Cup final and he'll be a beast again in more games where we need him the most. Kanj Posted Saturday at 20:47 Share Posted Saturday at 20:47 I love my captain. Allowed to have bad days. He was sensational the last two matches. Won us a cup. Short memories. Place needs to grow the fuck up.

Everything you say is true, but the issues are definitely there and need addressing.
Gallowgate Toon Posted Saturday at 21:02 Share Posted Saturday at 21:02 His passing definitely hasn't been as good this season/the last little while. Pretty sure he's still high up in terms of through ball stats but feels like his weighting is off more than it was before. It'll come back. Looking forward to seeing a well-rested Bruno next season, tbh.
Irish Magpie Posted Saturday at 21:08 Share Posted Saturday at 21:08 Temperament problems aside his forward passing today were overweighted, each and every one of them. He had an off day for sure and I'm guessing he knows it better than any of the observers on here.
Kanj Posted Saturday at 21:17 Share Posted Saturday at 21:17 (edited) Our players just allowed to have bad days? He didn’t play well at all. End of. Why does it have to be some deep psychoanalysis literally was talking about being a great captain all these weeks after this cup final and now because he had a bad day where the ref was conned by every single dive from the Villa players, let’s just go into every thread and talk smack about our players. It’s tiresome. Reads like a bunch of personal attacks. Edited Saturday at 21:17 by Kanj

TheBrownBottle Posted Saturday at 21:40 Share Posted Saturday at 21:40 I thought he had his best game in yonks midweek tbh. Looked knackered today, the criticism I’d have is that he needs to calm down a bit in games like this, his head does go and we could end up with him missing for three games as a result

Jonas Posted Saturday at 21:50 Share Posted Saturday at 21:50 Just think its our old problem of averages, eventually they're all going to not have a good game because at present only Gordon/Barnes can be alternated. Even the best players, unless midfield spoilers, are only going to play well 90% of the time at best. Baby out with the bathwater stuff to suggest there's any alternative. Lush Vlad Posted yesterday at 08:23 Share Posted yesterday at 08:23 I agree with people saying players have off days, we don’t have another CM we can rotate in for him and that he plays too much football. Meaning he looks a bit jaded at times. I love Bruno and what he brings. But I also don’t see anything wrong with pointing out how exposed he was yesterday and that it highlights his physical limitations. In a game like that against such a quick, direct and incisive passing team. It isn’t a shock that he got a bit found out. Especially when the tactics were off and other players were getting pulled all over the pitch too. The gaps between players were too big and that just isn’t his game. He just isn’t fast enough and I felt he was either bypassed or players were happy to invite him in to make a needless foul. Tactics didn’t suit us or him. But he was his own worst enemy with his complete head loss and it’s not a new thing.
