Yes you got done for pace mate but don't compound it by costing your team further. Then surging up the field after kicking off trying to make amends and playing all of your colleagues out of position and contributing to another goal. Horror show. But Howe should have a) subbed him soon or b) learnt from the past and start Tino in the first place. Everyone watching knew he needed subbed at half time. A modern full back must have pace, especially in a team that presses so high.

Should pretty much ensure that he is not used at left backing going into next season. Backup to Botman and only ever at left back again in emergency situations. That performance was so embarrassing.? I wouldn’t bank on that.
BeloEmre
Of course Burn won’t start as a LB next season. Probably one of the first positions we are looking to strenghten.
AyeDubbleYoo
He got taken to town today but the penalty was exceptionally soft.

Burn dropping into a back three has been part of our pressing gameplan (moreso last season)
madras
We all saw what was happening and he should've been subbed at HT at the latest. Looked angry with himself and was trying to do too much because of it. At least the bloke in L7 who booed him walking off got pelters and looked embarrassed. huss9
So Tino is faster, a great one on one defender and much better going forward.. but BDB is 6 inches taller so he gets to play.

mighty__mag
No wonder he ripped Burn to pieces, he's quicker on one leg than Burn is on two.
gbandit
That was a very troubling performance. How quick was their RW? Because he didn’t look absolutely rapid. However, he made Burn look like poorly put together stop motion

Deuce
If Howe really likes the idea of one of our fullbacks being a CB hybrid, to go to a back 3 in possession and allow the other fullback (Trippier, Livramento) to push forward, then it absolutely has to be someone with pace. They do exist. Van de Ven got picked up by Spurs and Timber by Arsenal…I’m gonna keep banging the Piero Hincapié drum because he fits the bill perfectly. Scoot
Shame for Burn like but today has to be the last straw for him. He cost us 2 goals today but when you have Tino sitting on the bench behind Burn, it's quite annoying.

And that's being generous In the match thread, there were plenty of comments from people very surprised / disappointed that he came out for the second half. Today's result was entirely avoidable. AyeDubbleYoo
Personally thought the penalty was very very soft. Of course the lad rinsed Burn but it was barely a foul.

It was soft of course but there’s no scenario where you can put pressure on someone’s back from behind and expect it not to be given

Burn pulled his shoulder. Probably one of the most blatant fouls you'll see. You can argue the player could have stayed on his feet but that's irrelevant, once Burn pulls him, every player will go to ground and rightly so. I'd expect ours to do the same.
