Stifler Posted Saturday at 17:35 Share Posted Saturday at 17:35 (edited) For work I’ve got to travel through Sunderland quite often, usually multiple times a day. The redevelopment is just a small bit where the brewery once was, and around the SOL, although aside from the Sheepfolds, nothing has really happened around the SOL. There is pretty much nothing being done to its high street, aside from one building, the trains station (which is getting pelters from the residents) and a Holiday Inn. Day to day, the vast majority of the residents won’t have any reason to interact with the majority of the buildings being built. It is nothing like the ‘One of the most ambitious redevelopment projects in the U.K.’ tag that the Sunderland media and residents are repeating. You know what though, it’s a shame. The high street for example is a mess. Studies show that residents of Sunderland do their non-grocery shop in higher numbers in places like Washington, Metro Centre, Newcastle, and Durham more than they do in Sunderland. Last week the residents were celebrating the fact that Tesco opened up an Express store in their town centre. Imagine not having a convenience store in your town centre in 2025, heck even North Shields has one of those small shitty ASDA’s. As it happens, Sunderland is in a position where it could feasibly knockdown a large number of buildings in it’s town centre and build a few quality mid-high rise buildings which could increase the population and create the demand for entertainment facilities, and retail. It’s on the seaside, has a University, has a decent amount of parks within it, and it is a Metro ride away from Newcastle. It by all means should be an up and coming area, and it should be making strides to look appealing to younger people, especially if they are offering affordable housing within Tyne and Wear. Pablo123 Posted Saturday at 17:43 Share Posted Saturday at 17:43 "They're happy living in their own shit and filth" Kate Adie. "We quite simply had to get out of there to survive" Jordan Henderson. I was through there last weekend for a Blue Monkey reunion night (which was absolutely tremendous, to be fair) at the club Elysium in the city centre. Got the Metro through and I was shocked at the state of the area from the walk to the club from the Metro station. Last time I had a night out there was about 15 years ago and the place has gone even further downhill by the looks of things. Seems like their Stack at Seaburn is the place for a night out now as the centre of town is an absolute hole.

Went there regularly and it was a genuinely brilliant place. If you were into that scene of course. I wasn’t necking anything but others definitely were. The place was packed, no phones and very fucking loud. Genuinely felt like 1992 all over again lol.
et tu brute
Another gem from Sporty. The daft cunts even outdone himself this time. It's going to be great seeing their world fall apart again as they're stuck in bottom place throughout the season, until they slide back down to their rightful place

Shame that last season's top spenders were Brighton, and we were 18th highest in the division. But you know, who needs facts.

This is independent proof of that. Man Utd categorise the Premier League as follows - Category A (£59-97) : Man City Liverpool Arsenal Spurs Chelsea Newcastle Category B (£57-£86): Villa Palace Brentford Fulham Bournemouth Brighton Leeds Burnley Everton Forest West Ham Category C (£37-£60): Zunderland Wolves Not only not a big team, but a level below second tier teams! Both the other promoted teams are in the category above. Imagine the fewm when they see they are considered a less attractive draw that Bournemouth, Brentford and even Burnley! I reckon that if Wolves had been relegated instead of Leicester, SAFC would have been category C all by themselves. They'll be fewmin!

Pablo123
There's a thread on RTG ranking the biggest clubs in England. I won't put a link up, but they really are fucking stupid cunts. They genuinely think they're some kind of juggernaut of a football club. I'd give them some respect if they put their litter in the bin, the scruffy fucks
Turnbull2000
I did chuckle when the fixtures came out, and a not insignificant number on RTG believed the majority of the first dozen opponents don't really amount to much. Basically it's just your Villa's, Arse's, Chelsea's that will trouble them Edited just now by Turnbull2000
