They're not going to be half as bad as some think on here like.

I do think they have a chance at staying up annoyingly.

All clubs have a chance but do you think they have a better chance than Burnley and Leeds?

Both sides they finished 24 points behind last season

They'll need a lot more signings and for them to hit the ground running

Can they stay up? Absolutely but it will take some going

This is more or less where I am.

I can make a case for all 3 of them to stay up but I keep coming back to the team in 17th that they'll need to be better than are going to be either of good quality or very well organised, to stay up all 3 will need both of those characteristics and a bit more

It’ll need at least two current PL sides falling to pieces for this to happen.

Which ones do you think will finish below them?  Maybe Brentford fall apart without Frank?  I’m struggling to name two sides likely to collapse

Why two? Finish above Leeds, Burnley and Brentford will be enough.

I think Bournemouth, depending on who else they lose/bring in will struggle, West Ham are a bit of an unknown and yeah 100% Brentford, they'll really struggle.

Sunderlands opening fixtures also are fairly kind, if they get off to a good start thats a big plus and confidence will build from there.

Let's not forget also, it was only 3 years ago Fulham, Bournemouth and Forest came up through the play offs and all are still there now and thriving, especially Forest who were nobodies, as in came from nowhere compared to season before, so whilst we say the gap is so huge, it's only been the last two seasons thats been evident so too early to say thats the norm.

I dunno, feels like they have some momentum and their style of play is more suited to the PL

Forest bought a whole new squad when they came up.

I think Leeds finish above them tbh - that’s why I think two.  You’d need at least two PL sides to .

Two seasons is a long time in football - and last year’s promoted sides had the most disastrous season I can recall in the decades I’ve watched football.  All three were light years behind the worst PL sides - the gap was absolutely massive.

Don’t get me wrong- you could be right; but the gap has increased significantly the last couple of years.

Just read a couple of threads on there. They're getting a bit ahead of themselves, like. Haven't they only signed one player?

They've replaced one player who was going to be an unknown quantity in the Premier League with another player who is an unknown quantity in the Premier League, aye.

Just realised their 2 games before the December derby are the scousers and Man City away, going to be a fun few weeks with them looking forward to us being the "easy" game 😂

Every player currently is of championship standard. They have just signed one player who is a massive gamble. Absolutely nailed on relegation this year, unless they sign another 6 or 7 players of premier league standard. They are already nearly £15 million down and then you have increased wages and bonuses on top. So they won't be able to sign the number of quality players required. They are way behind the other two teams who were promoted with them, never mind the other 17 teams.

Why’s it become a thing with these fuckin weirdos that they’ve apparently beaten us to every signing they’ve made including the sporting director.

Can’t believe anyone wanted this lot back up. They are fuckin insufferable

And all they've done is replace their best player. Who knows if he's better.

Not sure about that, there's a huge quality difference between the Premier league and championship and they weren't even the 3rd best team in that.
