Yeah- think we’re on pretty shaky ground trying to claim the moral win on this one.

Depends if we're talking about the opinions of the people of Newcastle vs the people of Sunderland, or taking a wider view?

I get that football's a global game with global supporters, but when I say "we" to mean the fans of Newcastle, I don't include everyone with a keyboard and an internet connection who's just switched to us in their 30s and started hurling abuse from another continent, when 6 months prior they couldn't find Newcastle on a map.

I was at a company in Sunderland today and I jokingly said that we might need to use the SOL when we are getting our new stadium built, the lad went mental and said it would never happen in a million years and if it did he would never go back to watch Sunderland and sit on the same seat as a mag, he was really triggered by it, I'm expecting a new thread on Ready to Groom tonight so he can vent his anger.

I used to work for a national company whose NE office happened to be in Sunderland, I worked out of the Leeds office.

Occasionally I had to go to Sunderland to deal with stuff so I would catch the train to Newcastle and back so I could do a bit of work on my laptop, and get picked up from Newcastle and driven to Sunderland by one of their lot, rather than drive myself.

One time, getting a lift back to Central, we were driving through Gateshead, I knew he was Sunderland. Coming over the brow of a hill SJP came into view, I said, knowingly, "Ah, look at that, the cathedral on the hill!"

I honestly thought he was going to crash the car, went absolutely mental.

I mean, surely any normal person would just laugh and say "fuck off!"

They'll go up most likely but they are fkn awful to watch. Supposedly full of generational talents who are rank rotten. I know he's still young but I just can't see the fuss about Rigg either. Bellingham too, just average.

Edit: Watching Sheff Utd and they have3 or 4 very exciting talents. Good to watch too.

They won't beat Burnley over 2 legs or in a final.

I'm hoping they'll lose to West Brom and Mowbray. I've asked for that for my birthday. 😆

It's very possible. Think they have a better shot at sheff utd, so hope they finish 2nd. Burnleys defence is too good for them and they'll be composed when it matters.

Watched a lilte bit of last nights match, that Enzo Le Fe fella looks decent, or maybe it’s just because everyone else is cack?

Too good for the championship but after 6 months deemed not good enough for the worst Roma side in decades.

Nissan overtime shifts in full demand tonight I see

Anyone know why hardly anyone turns up for their midweek games? I know we take the piss about Nissan etc but, whilst far from full on a Saturday there's still probably best part of 35k there but midweek the place is like a ghost town.

Just find it totally bizarre and I don't know of any other clubs in the country that suffer such huge discrepancies in attendance between weekend amd midweek games.

Aye mystery (one stupid twat on there was actually using the Nissan overtime as an excuse). You are talking between 10-15000 fans not attending compared to weekend games. Their cup attendances are a piss take also. It's totally laughable that they have an attendance thread for each game.

Have seen it mentioned on RTG that it's freezing cold on a night time, what with the North Sea blowing a cold chill over the place .

my dad didn’t go last night because “He couldn’t be arsed”, to be fair he is 80 and wouldn’t get back home until close to midnight after a midweek game. He often adopts this approach.

He has had a season ticket for years.

If/when they come up, what's their budget? Will they have to spunk it all on Le Fee or can they sell Dan Neil to Barca and buy Dibling, Salah and Mbappe?

If they were to get promoted they would be lucky to get 10 points. However, the strategy may be to yo-yo for a while as it still makes financial sense.
