By what’s written on the website it sounds like any change is going to be minimal and it’ll largely remain the same. They’re updating it, not setting fire to the current and coming in with something totally different

I'm not too fussed as long as it's decent. I've been around through the last four badges, so the change probably doesn't affect me as much as someone who is younger and has only known the current badge. 
 

This is no more than a tick mark exercise (imo), as the design will already be in draft I'm convinced. There maybe a couple of options to make it look more like a fan selection. I do think the timing stinks though, as it's not going to be on next season's kit, so why not wait until the season ends. Just causes a disruption amongst the fans before three massive games.

They did that already - that’s why we have the 1988 facsimile of the city coat of arms instead of the coat of arms

 

There are PL players playing who are older than the current club crest.  There’s sod all tradition attached to it

Not a fan at all of the 70s magpie badge. The seahorse has a connection the the city beyond the club, the history of the area. We’re just associated with magpies because they’re the same colour as our shirt.

I'm sure when this topic was talked about on here a while back someone mocked up a simplified version of the current crest which was absolutely spot on. 

 

Just do that and be done with it.

I'm ok with the crest change, as LONG as the new one isn't crap. The problem is I don't entirely trust it won't be.

 

There are far too many cookie-cutter, oversimplified Man City-esque ones floating about nowadays, and I'd be quite gutted if ours ended up like that too.
