jackyboy
I know he's a good shot stopper but that's his job. It's all the other bits that collectively make him a good goalkeeper or not. Things like, distribution, commanding his area, punching, catching and decision making. I think that he is lees than average on those other bits. Think of Liverpool and Alison at their peak, Man City and Ederson, they were worth 9 points a season to their teams

Weezertron
If Ramsdale isn't given atleast a go at some point, it's another iffy bit of scouting and transfer business from this past summer window. 4m for a season long loan.

Pope is feeling like shit. A decent manager wouldn’t just call him out. he probably will back Pope, but what do you guys expect him to say to the press? teohgk
This is on Howe, it’s not the first time Pope did this kind of stupid act, yet Howe never restrict him from doing so. And yes, Pope will still start on Saturday
Stottie
Neuer to the Nick Pope rescue. At least Pope sent Aubameyang wide.
nufc4eva
Needs dropped and to win his place back, we can't win away games anyway so putting Ramsdale in and seeing if make a difference would make sense. Wouldn't mind also seeing Gordon on right and keeping Barnes left as Murphy/Elanga been uninspiring as has Gordon but at least something a bit different. Also Hall left back and Miley or Ramsey alongside Bruno and Tonali, or even dropping Bruno as hasn't really been great in away games at all.
andycap
Cannot be playing gordon man it's everton away plus he's playing like shit. Imagine if we win a penalty he'll be wanting to take it. 😂
Rocker
Aye, no way should he be starting. Not this game (or any given his form for the past 12 months).
Rich
Been a staunch defender of Pope since his otherworldly start to life here, but GK now stands out like a sore thumb as the biggest single upgrade we could make to the team if we get our next signing there right. (Admittedly followed quite closely by a winger, again, given the woes of Anthony and Anthony.)
Lush Vlad
The frustrating thing with him is, it has quite often seemed like he is turning a corner and getting back to the Pope of old when he first signed. Only to then start making howlers he never used to or repeating previous fuck ups. I think this is the third time in the last couple of seasons. Where it has seemed like he has got through a rough patch, some poor decisions or goals conceded after returning from injury. Only to then fall apart again. The injuries and uncertainty in his decision making because of said injuries and previous howlers. Seem to be massively impacting how he plays. There must be some underlying data somewhere as the reason to keep playing him?! Not just 'Eddie loves him'. I don't even think Ramsdale is necessarily the solution, but it can't hurt giving him a go. I know it's not the biggest sample size, but he looked fine in the two cup games. Similar to when Dubravka came in. Maybe just a slight change in our build up and how we retain the ball or build from the back. Might just make us harder to play against and less predictable. He's playing because Howe is unflinchingly loyal to his leadership group IMO. Plus if he drops Pope it could affect his England prospects, Pope was waxing lyrical about how Tuchel had been in regular touch with him about the World Cup right before the West Ham game, where he dropped at least one clanger. The CL was the perfect game to rotate him without making it look like he'd been dropped, now I think he stays in the side just to preserve his reputation. That's not to say he's a bad keeper either, but neither is Ramsdale, and we are paying good money for him to be here on loan which is going to cost us £25m if we keep him on. What is he supposed to think when Pope keeps getting picked regardless of how many times he fucks up?
