Ikon
He looks homeless and almost as if it's his first few days on planet earth. 5m is fair.
Ilovetoon8788
At 34 and based on last season performance, he's done his time here. He should move on.
OverThere
Tough crowd. He's in decline but has been very good for us.
NSG
He was a really good keeper for us for a couple of seasons, but his form massively fell off a cliff this year. The number of times he’s charged out of his area to miss the ball completely is ridiculous. I’ll always be appreciative of that save vs Jones in the cup final. If that goes in then I’m not convinced we win the cup…

Started the next season really well but then got a bad injury against Man United and has never been the same since.

NEEJ
Pope's slope.
Rich
He was the best shot stopper in the league during his early spell with us, and easily the best at one-on-ones, but Nut’s timeline pretty much nails it. If we can get £5M for him, he’s been yet another immense signing and incredible value for money.
The College Dropout
Love Pope. Legend to me. Best I’ve seen for us at his best. But my boy is finished.
TheBrownBottle
If he goes this summer he might be my favourite NUFC keeper (it’s not a long list tbf) - he’s been a colossus for us in the past.
Menace
Didn't realise Ipswich were his boy hood team. Guess he's gone then.
PauloGeordio
Will be a fitting finish to his career going to his boyhood club. He’s been outstanding for us at times, and given us some laughs and some scares along the way. Bless Popey, bless his feet.

He was great for a couple of seasons but for constistency over time he's nowhere near Shay Given for me.

Better than Given for me - like Given he has his flaws (distribution being their shared weakness - my old seat in the Leazes put me head-height with Given and in line with the edge of the six yard box, Christ could that lad shank a goal kick) but I’d take Pope ahead of Given if I was asked to name a keeper. I can of course see the argument the other way.
duo
It's not so much that Pope is a bad keeper - it's more the game has evolved to what role a keeper is expected to play in team tactics. Pope just has shown he's unable to adapt.

I just think Given maintained roughly the same high level for easily 5+ seasons. Edited 5 hours ago by Collage

Yeah, it definitely seemed to be referred to far less. 100% can accept anyone preferring Given to Pope, it’s just Pope edges it for me.
Si67
Always had a soft spot for Mick Mahoney Super Goalie just for the song, the classic 70s look and I scored a penalty against him when he came to our school.
