Exactly, a black market that would be wide open for abuse if people cotton on and fancied making a few quid.

I don’t know what checks NUFC do when changing the names on ST’s, but I know 2 x lads in their 20’s who had ST’s passed down to them from grandparents last year.

And I met an owld bloke last year who had just been given an ST after his mate passed away and left it to him.

A lad I teach goes with his mate now. His mate got the ticket from the lad I teach’s grandad (who’s still alive). I think you’re allowed to source it from wherever.

Like properly left it to him, in his will? Can just visualise some guy marching up the box office with the bloke's executor waving around the will and grant of probate and asking them to sort it out

The owld fella just told me he’d got his first ever season ticket last year and I asked how because none had been on sale and he said his pal had passed away recently so he’d now taken it on in his own name.

Fuck knaaz what the admin process is though.

Part of me is happy enough if the ST’s are making their way into the hands of youngsters as we desperately need the yoots to have an access route to ST’s.

But then the other part of me thinks fuck that, nepo-tickets are a disgrace. Getting an ST purely based on who you know shouldn’t be allowed no matter what your age is.

Everyone should get in the fucking massive queue and it has to be a level playing field otherwise it’s totally unfair.

Rather the young enthusiastic supporters than the old cantankerous bastards that have been choking the life out of SJP.

Thing is, the average age in The Cocoon Stand is 86. When they cark, and pass their ST onto their nepobaby, that lucky recipient is 65 😉

Personally, I'd have allocated all of the 250 new ST's to the 18-25's.

I believe the children are our future, teach them well and let them lead the way. Show them all the beauty they possess inside, give them a sense of pride to make it easier. Let the children's laughter remind us how we used to be.

Fuck the middle aged and the owld folk. We've had our time. If you don't evolve you dissolve.

Fuck that. I'm as loud and shouty as any young'un. Most of them sit scrolling through their phones and videoing shit all game anyway. I've definitely not had my time like. Big up the old cunts. Onwards and upwards.

I was generalising.

There's noisy 90 year olds singing the correct words to the Blaydon Races at the correct tempo. And there's 19 year olds who do nowt but sniff gear and places akka's on their phones.

But if we don't get more young blood into the ground and at away games in significant volume, then the club will lose a generation of supporters.

Is there a way to check which debit card they have on file for you? Nothing has happened yet and wondering if I've changed cards and not updated.

DM me your sort code, account number and the CVV number on the back of your card and I'll look into it for you.

Big fan of them trying an expired card 3 times. :D

Did the same with me, forgot I changed bank.

Going to use it as an excuse not to renew it to be honest. Didn't get to a single game last season. Think I'm happy just being an armchair fan from here on in.

I got an email this morning thanking me for renewing and saying payment would be taken later today despite me cancelling our memberships, so I briefly emptied my current account into my savings account in case they tried to take any money and sure enough I got another email this afternoon to say my payment had failed with a link to go and complete payment.

You still have 2 weeks to cancel after.  I need to get around to getting my money back.

Get it renewed. You’ll have more luck this season. Far too young for that armchair just yet!

What was your ST waiting list number?

I have emailed to cancel my membership within the cooling period. Zero ballot wins, 40,000 in the season ticket queue - what is the point.

Aye the whole ballot thing just didn't work out for me. The old way meant that if a really, really wanted a ticket I could get one, which meant having a dozen different browsers on the go from 9.45, seeing which one had the smallest number at 10am and then getting one of the 15k or so tickets on sale. The ballot took all that away and made it pure pot luck and I just never took to that.

Is what it is. Not really all that arsed. Attended well over 1k games in the 43 years since my first one and I honestly believe I experienced the best times of being a match going fan. Doesn't really hit the spot for me in the way it once did with the declining atmosphere and the sky high ticket prices so happy enough being a Firestick Mag now.

That's exactly the way it still works, except there's a ballot before it. Most the time you can get a ticket in the member sale, and failing that it's usually very doable to F5 your way in.

Find it utterly bizarre the amount of people who enter the ballot, call it a day then whinge they can't get tickets. Obviously excluding those who can't log in at the time of member sale.
