He was never signing for us man him & his agent knew if he stuck around till the summer he’d get a bigger deal at somewhere like PSG.

Ashworth's certainly been busy signing promising youth players to make up for years of neglect, but there'll be a lag before these efforts come to fruition. It's likely we'll have to spend and spend big. LIverpool's key pieces in their final puzzle were the world's most expensive defender and the world's most expensive goalkeeper.

Anderson shows a lot of promise, but let's not put pressure on the lad for the time being.

It's funny that you mentioned Son, Kane, Saka and Foden like talents because none of those players were signed via money bazooka.

I imagine we'll end up with top talents in much the same way those 4 came to be just that. Decent young players coming through and a clever signings that were brought along well by the manager.

“Money bazooka” ?

Oh,  but wouldn’t it be nice to wheel out the big gun just once this summer? Even if it is from HSBC’s armoury.

Good player that would obviously improve us, but he's a little rat cunt and I don't want him here. Would rather we focus on developing Elliot Anderson who is a very similar player to him imo.

Nice concept but Maddison got 18 goals last season, right now that’s exactly what we need.  The same logic is why I think we should have got Harrison - £35m for someone who got double figures last season but since that bid almirons been class pre season.

If it’s obvious to you that Ekitike was never signing for us, you must have a really low opinion of the club to spend so much time pursuing him over two different windows?

Aye coz he didn’t just wait and wait till psg came along  for once this isn’t opinion it’s fact. It’s literally what just happened and he said as much the other day. He waited till a bigger move opened up. So yes, yes it is very obvious. Fuckin hell

So, we sell them Ayoze for 30M and bid 35M for Maddison. Works for me.

There’s taking a stance with fees and then there’s ridiculous low balling.

It’s great that we seem to only be going for players that will be an upgrade but that comes with a price.

Not bidding the full asking price straight away and negotiating?

Is it that people have forgotten this is how things work because we pretty much stopped buying players under Mike Ashley?

So the Hope article is just to ignore as Percy is a much more respected reporter?

When it comes to Leicester and midlands clubs, Percy is gospel.

It’s ridiculous, I mean as an example look at City with Cucurella, Brighton want 50 and city bid 30.

Hope is acting like we are already walking away. Percy says we may come in with an improved offer. Guess we will see who knows..

That's a great example actually. Good point!
