Village Idiot
New shield. Don't mind the other changes, but HATE that they removed "FCB" from it. Still has to be approved by the membership assembly.

Village Idiot
I like the old style ball. That's already in the current crest. Been there since the 1930s, when it wasn't an "old style ball" but a "current style ball"
Village Idiot
Terrible that, terrible. Nothing wrong with the current one. The more I watch it, the more it feels like they took the file of the current crest and misclicked on the layer with all the black overlays. (they also changed the stripes a bit)
SEMTEX
They just made it easier/cheaper to print/use in 10000000 different products. Less detail = $$$$$$$. No thin lines, no distort-able text. PROFIT.

Guest
Scottish FA have made the ridiculous decision to stage both the Rangers-Aberdeen & Celtic v Hearts Semi-Finals on the same Sunday at Hampden Park. First game kicks off at midday (first train from Aberdeen to Glasgow on a Sunday arrives 12.15), second game kicks off at 7.45pm meaning you’re going to have 15-20k people trying to get back to Edinburgh after 10pm on a Sunday. Throw in the rivalry between the clubs involved and this is a recipe for disaster.

I honestly don't think it's a cost-cutting thing, more keeping up with the world of design. Football clubs as big as Barcelona are brands (as much of an ugly word that is to tie to a football team) and it just happens that minimalism & reducing number of elements is where design finds itself at present. You see this same process happening in the corporate world, Mastercard, for example.
Dinho lad
Yep, 'minimised' design is seen as the 'elegant' choice of high prestige brands.
