Guardiola was asked for his views on a breakaway league in an interview with Catalan daily newspaper Ara, and he said: "I do not agree much with the idea. Someone should explain to me [why it's a good idea].

"If it happens we'll kill the leagues. If Barca and Madrid go and they do not play against Espanyol, who will follow the league? The Spanish league will die.

"In England they are very intelligent, the grounds of the fourth division are full. England will not let this essence of local football die."

"Part of the greatness of the Champions League is that it is not every Sunday," said Guardiola. "If games were every week it would lose its charm.

"Barcelona v Espanyol is very necessary for the city. And the more Catalan teams in La Liga, the better.

"If we kill the domestic leagues, nobody will be interested in watching teams that do not have the chance to go to the European league."

Arsenal kit launch horribly backfires with Madeleine McCann and Hitler tweets

Adidas has launched an investigation after it shared racist and anti-Semitic versions of the new Arsenal shirt from its official Twitter account. The German sportswear giant launched its #DareToCreate campaign on Monday and invited people to get involved by liking and retweeting its post about Arsenal’s home kit. Adidas would then generate a virtual shirt with the user’s Twitter handle on the back, along with the message ‘welcome to the squad’. But it horribly backfired when Twitter trolls hijacked the good-natured campaign. Sick account names including ‘Gas All Jews’ and ‘Die All ‘N*****s’ were then emblazoned across the Arsenal shirt and sent out from the official UK page.

Really shows how the CL distorts competition.

partly but arsenal seemed to build themselves financially as ready to dominate once the tv money bubble burst with big gate revenues and long term sponsorship deals but instead the bubbles gone more insane. And thats not even taking into account some of the stupid transfer decisions and big contracts handed out

Guest Yerdas El Savon

Never liked him the old, diving cunt. Walks like he's got a cucumber stuck up his arse as well.

Good player, mind.
