Andy84
Can’t criticise the club on this one tbh. As soon as Chelsea entered the race it was over. They get every player they’re in for

I’m just not that arsed about signing him. Genuinely why are there people like you who always try to force a change of opinion. It’s weird
SAK
20 minutes ago, simonsays said: Meh, I convinced myself he'd be good for us, but in all honesty he doesn't look like a £60m player to me. I know the market is crazy, but surely there is better value to be had elsewhere There is but you have to be brave and some may turn out to be duds. We were with the likes of Bruno, Botman, Gordon, Hall, and Tino. They were either good players in foreign leagues but no prem experience or upcoming English players on big fees. Seem to be targeting prem proven and getting blown out of the water by the Cartel clubs.

TRon
Quite sobering that this thread went from titled Newcastle closing in on Pedro to Chelsea sealing the deal in less than 24hrs. We might be slow movers but they certainly aren't.

SAK
The club needs to rethink the strategy, they’re obviously targeting premier league proven going by the reported targets such as Joao Pedro, Elanga, Mbeumo, Guehi. Offering 45m for Elanga when Forest value him at £60m plus and don’t need to sell to make it happen you have to overpay (I’m not saying he’s worth overpaying for but as an example). If we’re unwilling or unable to overpay then why are we wasting time? Appreciate with Joao Pedro the player wants Chelsea and us paying the fee Brighton want is irrelevant but the point stands in general. Need to take some risks in the European market as we’ve done in the past.

Oh well Think Trafford is the one signing I see with a really high ceiling, think he could transform our play from the back and looks to have huge potential. I agree about Elanga very hard at the fee being quoted to think that it’s a good deal, he’s a speed merchant and one trick pony.

In the heat of the moment you aren't going to ask someone for their ID. I think there was enough mitigation and the sentence he got highlighted this tbh. Elanga is 23 with bags of raw potential and all the attributes to be a perfect Howe player. I’d pay £60m in a heartbeat.
Ashley17
Feel like we had bigger fires need putting out than signing someone to “give us more options.” I don’t like him, he is petulant and throws himself about, hopefully we go and do better elsewhere now before people do start shitting the bed

He’s definitely a Howe player but think in the Champions league you need a bit more craft, we’ve got raw pace in Gordon on one side, we looked technically way short last time in Europe and Elanga doesn’t solve that for me. Kimbo
Elanga is another one we seem to have been after for a while without getting anything accepted. I think Forest have a price in mind and we can match it or fuck off.
SiLvOR
I think I'm more annoyed at Chelsea wrapping this up ahead of us, than I am losing out on the player. He's not looked anything special at all in the league tbh. Just hope we can start getting people in the door quickly, Eddie/everyone will want them in before pre season or as soon as possible.
